When you want to haul ladders, bikes, or camping gear without losing bed security, the Explorer Series rails make it easy. The built-in T-slots let you mount a ladder rack or roof rack directly to the cover and adjust its position anywhere along the rails to fit different cargo sizes. They work with Pace Edwards Utility Rig and Contractor Rig ladder racks (sold separately), so you can stack gear above the bed and still use the retractable cover underneath.

Sometimes you need to lock up tools or groceries, and other times you want the whole bed open. The JackRabbit gives you both. The heavy-duty aluminum panels are topped with a black vinyl layer that looks seamless but stays rigid for real security. You can lock the cover at any point along the rails using the built-in key latch, or pull it closed completely for full protection. Closed and locked, it secures the bed when paired with a locked tailgate.

Opening and closing a hard retractable cover shouldn’t feel like work. With this one, just turn the handle at the tailgate and the tension spring automatically retracts the cover into its canister. A built-in pull strap lets you slide it back out again in seconds and stop at 12-inch intervals if you need partial coverage for long cargo. The motion stays smooth because the spring system keeps even tension through the full range of travel.

Rain, dust, and snow stay where they belong—outside your truck bed. The ArmorTek construction bonds padded vinyl to rigid aluminum slats, sealing tight against the rails with a large rear gasket and foam seals under the canister. Water channels inside the rails direct runoff into drain tubes that funnel it through factory bed holes, so your gear stays dry even in harsh conditions.

A tonneau cover should blend in, not stand out. This one mounts inside the bed rails for a flush appearance that matches the truck’s lines. The aerodynamic design cuts wind drag when closed to help improve gas mileage. The compact angled canister protects the rolled cover while keeping full rear-window visibility and maximum usable space in the bed below.

looks good, it's what I wanted.
Last year I replaced my old cover, and I have had no problems with it. I'm happy I bought it. It came in handy when I went on vacation and could lock my stuff in the bed. I felt safe I could leave my items in the truck knowing it was locked. The representative who helped me order the cover was fantastic.
The cover looks great. The install was a little more time consuming given the mounting clamps were different then the direction booklet. After watching several videos, I was able to fine one with the clamps included in my kit.
5 stars for the product - Well thought out, high quality, functional, and good looking. Seems very secure. Weather resistance is to-be-determined but I'm confident that it will meet my requirement to keep stuff in the bed from getting soaked.
1 star for installation - I'm a jack-of-all trades and I've built a lot of stuff. This was the single most frustrating installation I have ever done. Around 8 hours spread over 4 evenings. I'm guessing Pace Edward hasn't tested their installation instructions recently. Instructions were outdated compared to the hardware that actually shipped. An amendment sheet, which attempted to reconcile the differences between the original instructions and the shipped hardware, was included. Ultimately those parts weren't even needed for my truck! Instructions say you'll need assembled clamp hardware, and you have to guess how to assemble them, only to find out that you need to install them without assembling all the way because otherwise they'll hit your truck when you slide them on! Aluminum clamp hardware tolerance was so tight that they wouldn't slide onto the rail without lubrication and a rubber mallet (which exacerbated the frustration since I attempted to slide them on only to realize that I needed to partially disassemble them); aluminum shim hardware was perfect and slid on effortlessly. Drain tube foam washer was too thick to allow the tube to clip to the cover box like it's designed to do. I had to use RTV silicone instead. Maybe I missed the memo but these covers will NOT fit your bed if you have a plastic factory bed liner. You will need to remove or cut the liner in a few places to make it fit. During the installation process I accidentally dislodged the weather seal that goes between the cover edge and your tailgate - HUGE pain to get that reconnected to the cover.
Despite the horrible installation experience, pending any issues I discover while using the cover, I would buy it again!
Inaccurate description , installation manual doesn't reflect included hardware. Overall disappointing for the money.
Previous covers used on other trucks include roll and lock and retrax and they will outlast this one Jack Rabbit without a doubt
This is my second Jackrabbit. Used first on a Tundra. Current one for a '16 F250. Fit is nice and install is not difficult. Easy pull operation and frequent stops are appreciated. I think explorer rails are a must for more functionality
The weather strip on the rear of the cover - prevents water from getting in between the tailgate and the cover - is constantly needing to be reattached - very annoying. The lock gets jammed and prevents the cover from staying closed - annoying as hell. Otherwise, considering I've only opened it a dozen or so time in a year, it is just okay.
Got my Pace Edwards jackrabbit today. It makes a nice addition to my second gen Dodge ram. One of the track stops was on the wrong side of the stop inside the canister. Took a few hours to figure that out. Also I had to use a Dremel tool and a small, thin grinding wheel to enlarge the t-shaped grooves for the t-slot hold downs. Anyway, it works as advertised and I'm happy with my purchase
Had the cover for 1 year now. Paint finish is not holding up at all, chipping off like crazy. I do open it often, but have noticed the tracks get very dry and it’s hard to slide the cover open and closed. I do spray the tracks often to keep them lubricated. Drain tube connectors are very loose and don’t keep the water out like I would have hoped.
Installation was a little tricky but only because you have to assemble then shim and it might take a couple of try’s to get the shimming correct, don’t tighten anything completely before completing the shimming then be sure to recheck the measurements after tightening. The function is smooth and easy to operate, it would be nice if the kit came with more than one Velcro pieces to allow for multiple mounting options depending on the position of the cover. I tow a fifth wheel so it is nice to be able to lock the top in a particularly open position.
Fits very well and easy to install
