Features to know about

Haul More Without Losing Bed Function: Retractable Design

When you’re loading tall gear or bulky items, you don’t have to take the cover off. The JackRabbit’s retractable design rolls smoothly into a 9-1/4" tall x 9-3/4" deep angled canister at the front of the bed, leaving your rear window clear. The built-in pull strap makes it easy to close, and it can stop every 12" along the rails so you can cover part of the load and still carry long cargo over the tailgate.

Adapt to Any Setup: Explorer Series T-Slot Rails

If you use racks for bikes, kayaks, or a work ladder, the Explorer Series rails make it simple. The integrated T-slots run the full length of each rail so you can mount and adjust racks or accessories wherever they fit best. They work with Pace Edwards Utility Rig and Contractor Rig ladder racks (sold separately) and let you haul gear above the bed without blocking access to what’s inside.

Keep Gear Dry and Secure: ArmorTek Deck with Water Management

Rain or shine, your cargo stays protected under the weather-resistant ArmorTek deck. A black vinyl top layer is bonded to rigid aluminum panels for a soft look with hard-cover strength. Seals at the bulkhead and tailgate keep out dust and debris, while drain tubes route water through the truck bed floor so it doesn’t pool or freeze in the rails. When locked and paired with a closed tailgate, the heavy-gauge aluminum panels secure your gear against prying or cutting.

Smooth Use Every Time: Continuous Tension Spring System

You don’t have to wrestle this cover into place. A heavy-duty tension spring helps it retract automatically when you turn the handle at the tailgate, and it glides shut just as easily with the pull strap. The design keeps tension even along the rails for consistent operation in all kinds of weather.

Sleek Profile That Works Hard: Flush-Mount Style

The low-profile rails sit inside the bed for a clean look that matches the truck’s lines. Because it’s nearly flush, wind drag is reduced and gas mileage can improve when the cover is closed. The aerodynamic fit still leaves clearance for most fifth-wheel hitches—no bulky caps or panels getting in your way.

looks good, it's what I wanted.

Last year I replaced my old cover, and I have had no problems with it. I'm happy I bought it. It came in handy when I went on vacation and could lock my stuff in the bed. I felt safe I could leave my items in the truck knowing it was locked. The representative who helped me order the cover was fantastic.

by:

The cover looks great. The install was a little more time consuming given the mounting clamps were different then the direction booklet. After watching several videos, I was able to fine one with the clamps included in my kit.

5 stars for the product - Well thought out, high quality, functional, and good looking. Seems very secure. Weather resistance is to-be-determined but I'm confident that it will meet my requirement to keep stuff in the bed from getting soaked.

1 star for installation - I'm a jack-of-all trades and I've built a lot of stuff. This was the single most frustrating installation I have ever done. Around 8 hours spread over 4 evenings. I'm guessing Pace Edward hasn't tested their installation instructions recently. Instructions were outdated compared to the hardware that actually shipped. An amendment sheet, which attempted to reconcile the differences between the original instructions and the shipped hardware, was included. Ultimately those parts weren't even needed for my truck! Instructions say you'll need assembled clamp hardware, and you have to guess how to assemble them, only to find out that you need to install them without assembling all the way because otherwise they'll hit your truck when you slide them on! Aluminum clamp hardware tolerance was so tight that they wouldn't slide onto the rail without lubrication and a rubber mallet (which exacerbated the frustration since I attempted to slide them on only to realize that I needed to partially disassemble them); aluminum shim hardware was perfect and slid on effortlessly. Drain tube foam washer was too thick to allow the tube to clip to the cover box like it's designed to do. I had to use RTV silicone instead. Maybe I missed the memo but these covers will NOT fit your bed if you have a plastic factory bed liner. You will need to remove or cut the liner in a few places to make it fit. During the installation process I accidentally dislodged the weather seal that goes between the cover edge and your tailgate - HUGE pain to get that reconnected to the cover.

Despite the horrible installation experience, pending any issues I discover while using the cover, I would buy it again!

by:

Inaccurate description , installation manual doesn't reflect included hardware. Overall disappointing for the money.

Previous covers used on other trucks include roll and lock and retrax and they will outlast this one Jack Rabbit without a doubt

by:

Fits very well and easy to install

by:

This is my second Jackrabbit. Used first on a Tundra. Current one for a '16 F250. Fit is nice and install is not difficult. Easy pull operation and frequent stops are appreciated. I think explorer rails are a must for more functionality

by:

The weather strip on the rear of the cover - prevents water from getting in between the tailgate and the cover - is constantly needing to be reattached - very annoying. The lock gets jammed and prevents the cover from staying closed - annoying as hell. Otherwise, considering I've only opened it a dozen or so time in a year, it is just okay.

by:

Got my Pace Edwards jackrabbit today. It makes a nice addition to my second gen Dodge ram. One of the track stops was on the wrong side of the stop inside the canister. Took a few hours to figure that out. Also I had to use a Dremel tool and a small, thin grinding wheel to enlarge the t-shaped grooves for the t-slot hold downs. Anyway, it works as advertised and I'm happy with my purchase

by:

Installation was a little tricky but only because you have to assemble then shim and it might take a couple of try’s to get the shimming correct, don’t tighten anything completely before completing the shimming then be sure to recheck the measurements after tightening. The function is smooth and easy to operate, it would be nice if the kit came with more than one Velcro pieces to allow for multiple mounting options depending on the position of the cover. I tow a fifth wheel so it is nice to be able to lock the top in a particularly open position.

by:

Had the cover for 1 year now. Paint finish is not holding up at all, chipping off like crazy. I do open it often, but have noticed the tracks get very dry and it’s hard to slide the cover open and closed. I do spray the tracks often to keep them lubricated. Drain tube connectors are very loose and don’t keep the water out like I would have hoped.

  • Is There A Compatible Pace Edwards JackRabbit Tonneau Cover For A System One Ladder Rack
From what I can find on the System One ladder racks is that the rails would completely block up the bedrails preventing you from installing any tonneau cover, but the rig itself slides into those rails with a bolt. Since these two brands haven't been tested together there's no way to know if the attachment point for the rig is compatible with the rails of a JackRabbit tonneau cover. That being said, the correct fit for your 2015 Chevy Silverdo 2500 with a 6-1/2' bed for just the cover...

  • How to Attach Pace Edwards Ladder Rack to My 2014 Chevrolet Silverado
The Pace Edwards Utility Rig Rack # 311-UR3014 is a nice addition to a Pace Edwards Tonneau Cover on your truck.
