When you need to haul oversized cargo or gear, you don’t have to remove the cover to get the space you need. The BAKFlip G2 folds up panel by panel and secures upright against the cab using built-in prop rods. You can also strap it down partially folded if you want to keep a clear view out of the rear window. Because it mounts inside the bed rails, your tie-downs and stake pockets remain open for racks or accessories.
The integrated latch system keeps your cargo locked down when the tailgate is closed. Each section latches automatically under its own weight, and you can release the panels using the pull cords tucked into the corners. When everything is latched and the tailgate is locked, the bed becomes a secure space for tools and gear. The aluminum panels and tamper-resistant design keep the cover from being pried or cut open.
Rain, snow, and car washes are no problem thanks to the matte black rubber seals running along all edges and a built-in gutter system that channels water to drain hoses behind the cab. The 1/2" thick aluminum panels with insulated cores help keep the cover rigid and watertight, while the aluminum rails and hinges resist rust and corrosion.
Each panel is built from rustproof aluminum with a black paint finish and hair cell texture that stands up to UV exposure and corrosion. The cover supports up to 300 lbs of evenly distributed weight when closed, so it’s tough enough to handle real use. The aircraft-grade aluminum rails and powder coat finish keep everything solid and smooth for years of operation.
Installing the G2 doesn’t require drilling or complex tools. The frame rails clamp inside the bed rails, and the hinge rail bolts in place with slotted brackets for fine adjustment. Once tightened down, the cover sits flush for a clean, low-profile look that matches the lines of the truck while keeping the top of the bed rails clear for ladder racks or other accessories.

After using it for a while Im extremely happy with this cover. It has been a game changer, making my 2008 Ford Ranger bed far more useable and convenient for carrying a variety of items. One of the best purchases Ive ever made for it.

After a year of use the cover still works perfectly and I would highly recommend this cover. I really like the fact that you can open up different sections without having to open the whole thing.

Hi Mardy. I have heard this to be a difficult install and the latches to be stiff (though adjusting them helps), but noisy, flimsy, and poor quality are firsts for a BAK product like this. What kind of noise are you getting? Is something maybe not tightened down all the way causing part to stick up? And, what part are you finding flimsy or poor quality?

After year of use I love the tonneau cover. had issues installing but after using for a year I would give it a five star.

Actually its closer to two years and I could not be more pleased. I have done a few rainy road trips and the one thing that worried me was if it would keep the contents dry and it did. Al else about the cover has been good too. Good product and it fit like a glove.

Generally this cover continues to perform well. There is a small leak, which I haven’t been able to locate, but it’s not enough to do any harm to whatever may be in the bed. I would still recommend this cover.

It has been holding on strong. One of the weather strips was coming undone, but I was able to adhere it back down.
