Features to know about

Deep Design with Room to Spare

You won't waste time cramming gear into this box. The deeper design is a game-changer the first time you load up for the job, or toss in everything you need for a weekend out of town. It'll fit oversized drills, jack stands, and that box of tie-downs you usually leave behind. You won't have to pick and choose nearly as much with this box.

Quick, Secure Access

When your hands are cold, or you're wearing gloves, you need a box that just opens. The big push button is solid and responsive and locks or unlocks from either side. No more wasted minutes fighting with a sticky latch or a frozen lock.

Built to Take Real Abuse

Some boxes look tough until they're actually used. Here, you get thick aluminum walls, a lid that closes solid, and reinforcements that shrug off bumps and shifting cargo. You can drop heavy tools in, haul supplies, or even use the lid as a seat after work and not worry about the box flexing or giving out. It's assembled in the USA, and it holds up because it was built to.

Keeps Tools Dry, Clean, and Ready

You may have opened a box to find rainwater pooling under your wrenches, or a layer of dust on everything after a long drive. This one's built to keep the elements out. The tight seals stop water and grit at the edge. When you work in rough weather, you'll notice the difference from day one.

Organization That Actually Makes Sense

There's a tray up top that glides out when you want it, and screwdriver holders so your go-to tools are right there, not lost at the bottom. And the BedRug liner does more than look good, it cushions your tools and keeps things from rattling every time you hit a pothole. Your gear stays in place, and you don't have to dig for what you need. Plus, the reinforced front tie-downs give you a solid place to secure straps when you need to tie down extra cargo.

Straightforward Installation

This box is custom fit for your truck and installs with the included hardware. It has pre-drilled mounting holes, so you don't have to drill anything. That's all there is to it.

Video Transcript for UWS Truck Bed Toolbox w/ Push Button Review - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - UWS47TR

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the UWS toolbox in our 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Now, this is gonna be a great option if you're looking for something that's gonna look professional. It's gonna be pretty quiet when you're putting your tools in here. And the big thing here is, really easy to use, whether you have those thicker gloves on, or let's say, your hands are full, you use your elbow instead, you can do that too. Now, there's a few things I do like about this, and you can open it up from either side, and it is gonna be locking.

But let me kind of jump in here so we can take a look at the interior of it. So right over here you're gonna notice I do have this strap. And what I like about this design is that we have this latching mechanism here. So with straps, a lot of times they wanna get caught on a lot of things. With this design, I don't have to worry about this getting caught on our latches and damaging our straps, will just be a hassle to work with.

Right next to that, we're gonna have a bracket here on the inside, so you can put your other tools in place, and we're gonna have a pretty large cubby where you can put any of your tools or gear inside of. Next to that, we're gonna have this sliding tray. You can move it all the way across. You'll have three cubbies for different things. So any type of tools, hardware you can fit in here, anything larger like a hammer, or if you have smaller tools, you can fit in here too.

But what I like about all of this is when you go to put your stuff in here, it's gonna have this felt lining inside of there. So when you go to drop something, it's not gonna be near as noisy if it was just making contact with metal. And that same type of material is gonna line the perimeter of this box to help keep moisture from getting inside of here. But now let's get a couple of measurements to see how it's sitting back here. First one I'm gonna get is gonna be how far it sits in our bed, and that's gonna be about 20 inches.

So even for this shorter bed, we still have plenty of room for anything like a fridge, washer, dryer, anything like that. I'm gonna drop that down so we can get a better look at how much space is underneath our box. So this is gonna be fairly deep. We are still gonna have about 7 1/2 inches of clearance here. So any type of low-profile totes would fit underneath there, or any bags of sand, or any type of wood, it'd be a great spot for it. And for the total height it adds, that's gonna add just about six inches to your vehicle. So when you're driving around, you're probably gonna notice this out the back window a little bit, but it's not gonna be anything that's gonna block you whole back window. And what's cool about this is we're gonna have these anchor points in the bottom corners of the box. So if you need to strap anything down, you're not gonna lose the ability to have an anchor point on the cab side of your truck. Now, when it comes to installing it, there won't be any permanent modifications. It's really easy to do. What we gotta do, I can show you right now, is open up that box, we'll get this strap outta my way. And this felt lining here. There's gonna be an elongated hole in there. That elongated hole is where we're gonna put our clamp. And that's just gonna consist of this bolt washer underneath, clamp itself, larger washer, and then lock a nut on the very top of it. You just fit that underneath here. Push that bolt through that elongated hold, make sure there's no tabs getting in your way. If there are, just kind of push the toolbox forward just by a half inch or an inch to avoid it and cap it off. The last thing we have to do is just tighten down with a tool. And what I'd recommend for that is probably having some type of extension that get in there, 'cause it's just gonna make things a lot easier to do. You just tighten that down a few times. Once that feels pretty tight, you'll just repeat that on the other side. And that's pretty much it. Now, overall, I do think it is a solid option of a box. Again, because it's really easy to use with that button here, it's gonna look professional. And when you are throwing things in there, it's not gonna be too noisy. Another great option is gonna be the Westin Brute boxes, because you can get them in a lot different variations, whether it's something extra wide, more wider than this one, or something low-profile, or whatever fits your needs. But they won't be as quiet as this box right here. And if you guys do decide to go with this, let us know how it's working for you, and even send us a picture so we can see how it looks in your truck. And if you have any other questions, let us know here at etrailer. And again, I'm Matt, and thanks for watching.
