Video Transcript for What to Know About the Bulldog Winch Emergency Tire Repair Kit

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Bulldog Winch emergency tire repair kit. This is a 60 piece kit that's going to give you the tools and supplies you need to quickly seal a blown tire. Because of its blown molded storage case, it is going to be very easy to keep in your vehicle. So it's handy for your off-roading and highway emergencies.

This kit includes tools and instructions to temporarily fix a tire puncture. It is going to include long nose pliers to help you remove any obstructions. So if you get a nail or a twig or something, you can pull that out. It's also going to include a spiral reamer. This is going to clean the edges of the puncture hole and temporarily separate the steel belts inside the tire.

You're also going to get a lube tube for easy insertion into the puncture hole.So you'll just run your spiral reamer or your other tools in that to lubricate them a little bit, to make it easier to get in there. You're also going to get an insertion tool. This is going to hold your quarter inch by four inch long self vulcanization plugs. So you'll take one of these out of the plastic, feed it through the eye of your needle there, and then insert that into the hole. When you pull it out, the plug will stay in.

You want to make sure that about three eight to two inches of that plug is still visible. And then you'll use the knife included to cut off that excess so that it's nice and flush with the rest of your tire.You're also going to get a spare insertion needle and two of these L type hex wrenches so that you can change out your needle on the CLT handle if you need to, to make sure that that's working still. In addition to the tire puncture kit, you're also going to get several accessories for STEM repair. So you're going to get a four way valve STEM tool to remove and repair your valve core and valve stems. You're also going to get four replacement valve cores, four of these plastic valve caps.

And it's all going to come in this little storage case that stores inside of your overall case. You're also going to get this pencil style tire pressure gauge with the dual chuck.So the only thing that you're really not going to have in this kit is your compressor to air up the tire. Other than that, pretty much everything is included. They do include some instructions that are in this little plastic bag to keep them safe from the water, but the packaging that it comes in also includes some instructions on the back. So it might be worth keeping your case in this so you always have some instructions on hand. This does come with a one year limited warranty from Bulldog Winch. So if you have any problems, you can give them a call and they will help you out with that.Overall, I think this is a really great case. One thing that I've noticed that I'm not a huge fan of is that these pieces here don't really fit in tightly like these pieces up here. So you obviously want to obviously want to keep these on the bottom. This piece will fold over the top, so it shouldn't have to worry about anything falling out, but just a little bit more effort could have made those fit a little bit more securely.But overall, I think there's going to be a, just about everything that you need to temporarily fix a tire in here. Obviously this is for emergency situations only as soon as you can get to a certified tire repair shop to actually seal that hole permanently that will be better for you. This is just to help you get from wherever on the side of the road or off on the trail, wherever you may be, get you back to civilization so that you can get it repaired permanently. But I think this is going to do a good job, give you all the tools that you need to make sure that you can get there.
