Features to know about

Confident Driving in Snow and Ice: Diamond Pattern Keeps You Steady

When snow and ice start to pile up, the diamond pattern on these Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains gives you continuous traction so you can stay in control. The square links bite into snow and light ice for solid grip, while the diamond layout keeps that grip consistent through every turn of the wheel. It also helps smooth out your ride compared to ladder-style chains, which means less bumping and more steady movement over slick roads.

Quick Setup in Cold Weather: Built-In Assisted Tensioning Saves Time

Fumbling with loose parts in the snow is no fun. These chains make it simple—just make the color-coded connections and pull the built-in tensioners tight. There’s no need to drive over the chains or dig around for missing pieces. The assisted tensioning system is built right in, keeping things snug and secure so you can get back on the road quickly.

Step 1 of Titan snow tire chain installation showing chains laid flat on the ground to remove tangles before fitting to the tire.

Step 2 of Titan snow tire chain installation showing chains being spread behind the tire for proper positioning.

Step 3 of Titan snow tire chain installation showing connection of inner cable ends behind the tire.

Step 4 of Titan snow tire chain installation showing green hook connecting yellow side chains at top of tire.

Step 5 of Titan snow tire chain installation showing silver tensioning chain being fed through red bracket and clips for tightening.

Step 6 of Titan snow tire chain installation showing hook attachment and tension check after installation.

Smooth Ride in Tight Spaces: Class S Compatible Design Fits Where Others Can’t

If your vehicle has limited wheel-well clearance, these SAE Class S compatible chains are designed to fit without rubbing. The low-profile 3.7 mm (0.145") links are small enough to clear tight spaces but still strong enough to handle winter conditions. That makes them a great match for vehicles that can’t use bulky chains but still need solid snow performance.

Dependable Performance Season After Season: Manganese Nickel Alloy Resists Corrosion

Snow, slush, and road salt can do a number on metal, but not these. The manganese nickel alloy construction helps the chains resist rust and wear, keeping them ready for repeated use. They come with a reusable storage bag so you can keep them dry and organized between trips.

Ready When You Need Them: Compact and Easy to Store

Lightweight and compact, these chains fit easily in your trunk or behind a seat. Whether you’re preparing for a ski trip or just want peace of mind during winter months, you’ll have a reliable traction solution close at hand.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

These are simple and easy to install on the tires. I would recommend you test fit them a couple times so you are familiar with the process, this can potentially be a pain if you have to put these on in bad conditions. They come in a nice storage bag. This is my second set I have for both vehicles. I can’t vouch for how they perform in the snow as I have been lucky enough to not get stuck however, I’m glad I have them as a backup and I’m confident they would work well as an emergency item. They fit good and tight and feel they are constructed well enough for a temporary emergency tool. These are not designed or made to be driven on a non snow or ice covered roads for long distances and high speed as they will be tough on your vehicle and would wear out. I definitely recommend having these as a backup tool.

I live in Buffalo NU. We get some snow! My company work van absstinks in the snow even with extra weight and snow tires. I got stuck in a very long driveway and had to break out the chains. Tons of snow & wind blowing. Still was not much difficulty popping then on. Got out of my situation with ease!! Highly recommend these!

by:

I'm very happy with my snow chains! The chains are easy to install, the carrying case is great, the instructions are very clear, and George and Carol from etrailer provided great customer service! The chains are well-priced and are comparable to the Grizzlar Diamond tire chains.

by:

Perfect installation in my driveway on a 90 degree August day! Might have a different experience on the side of the road in a blizzard! But installation is straight forward so hopefully it will be almost as easy. Did have a little difficulty getting them tangled after the first installation try, but I was able to get them straightened out. The installation photos provided were excellent. Great service from etrailer!

Showed up sooner than expected. After a quick and snowless driveway test-install these chains were on my car in less than 15 minutes.

The chains have arrived on time. Will be doing a few dry runs here in the next few days. Then our adventure into the north, snow and mountains will commence. We will update this post after our adventures and see how everything performed.

I would highly recommend that you do not drive on dry pavement with Tire Chains. Tire chains are designed specifically to be driven on ice and snow, if you drive on dry pavement you will very likely damage the chains. While there is no specific depth that the snow needs to be, only what is enough to keep the chain from making contact with the pavement. Soft snow could be 3 inches, while harder snow 1 inches, ice should be half of an inch, etc. It just depends on the condition of the snow. To try out the chains, all you need to do is put them on the tire to make sure they fit snugly which you could do in the garage.

etrailer has provided me with the best customer service from the moment of purchase. They kept me updated with my order, letting me know delay and reason ing for delay before I felt any concern. Thank you all! Laty, the product came in and it looks great.

by:

So far so good, I received the chains in a timely manner and they look great, came in a nice case. I have a V6 Honda Accord and was worried about wheel clearance with the chains on. Upon inspection I can see that the links are large enough to be effective but small enough to clear the wheel well - his under (no snow) conditions. I will finish initial review after I drive around.

by:

I bought these chains prior to heading up to the Southern California mountains. They arrived extremely quick (about 3 days) after I ordered. The snow chains were very useful when I ran into a patch of ice on the way up the mountain. They are very easy to install/uninstall, unlike many of other types of snow chains you will find on the market. I would definitely recommend these snow chains to anyone heading up to the mountains during the winter that does not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle equipped with snow tires.

by:

Excellent company to deal with. Great customer service and product ships quickly. My most recent experience was related to on-going part replacement delays for a snow chain set I purchased last year. The issue was resolved with an entirely new chain so I at least have a fully functional and complete set on my next snow trip ensuring effective and safe travel. Thank you so much for on-going great service and support.

by:

We used the tire chains when travelling through southern Colorado over the Christmas period. We actually got bogged on the side of the road after an unscheduled stop. Even stuck in the mud and snow, the chains were really easy to fit with minimal trouble and got us out of the snow in no time. Really happy and fit perfectly.

I just received my Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains. These are a nifty alternative to chains that require jacking up the car and they look a lot more functional than cable chains. I just finished trying them on my 2015 Camry. It took a bit of time to untangle them out of the carry case but once that was done, the instructions were super helpful. I am closing in on 70 years old and had no problem getting the chains on. However, I did need to back out of my garage and re-tighten. My husband took about half the time (but I was coaching him!). I think in a snow situation, I would opt to untangle each chain in the back seat, then lay them out. Also, note that a small tarp will fit into the carry bag. I'm now feeling a lot better about heading over the mountains over the holidays. Thanks for a great product.

Easy to put on and they work great.

by:

For me I am sure the product is excellent, however I am most satisfied with etrailer’s customer service! I have not purchased tire chains before and after placing my initial order I realized I did not order the best chains for my vehicle and that I did not need chains on all four wheels! Customer service was very understanding and quickly fixed my issue! I am very happy with the experience! I have not yet used them, hope I don’t have too, but thankful I have them!

Chains arrived very quickly. Price was excellent, and chains are as advertised. Attractive and convenient carrying case make it easy to keep them handy in vehicle. The online installation video was good - definitely watch it before your first install. Definitely do a trial run before you really need them! Installation is pretty easy if the chains aren't all tangled up when you take them out of the case. So, take care when you put them away and it will make it easier the next time you use them. I would call these chains "light-duty" - the links are smallish. I wouldn't recommend themif you use chains a lot, but they are fine for me: I just need them those rare times when I really need to be out in chain-up conditions.

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2021 Ford Transit T250 AWD
I don't have an exact reason as to why self-tensioning tire chains are not recommended for a 2021 Ford Transit T250 per the owner's manual but we have plenty of manual tension options that will work for you depending on your tire size. It looks like there are only two sizes which can use chains for AWD models, 205/75-16 and 235/65-16 so I have attached options for both of these sizes below. Please note, the chains must only be installed on the rear and they must also be class s rated. 235/65-16:...

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for Size 245/70/17
Since the wheel diameter of 17.5 is not common on passenger vehicles it's not a size our chain manufacturers have fits for so it's hard to compare if the two sizes you mentioned would have same chain fits. For the 245/70/17 though we have the Titan chain part # TC1547 which would fit and work well. These chains are easy to install, provide great traction, and are priced great too. If you wanted the easiest to install though the Konig Easy Fit chains part # TH04115102 are the way to go....

The Thule K-Summit Tire Chains, part # TH02230K22, will fit the P215/45R17 tires on your 2010 Toyota Prius. This is an expensive option, but if you need a set of chains that will install easily, will provide great traction and offer you the best clearance possible since they do not go on the inside of the tire sidewall these are it. If you are looking instead for an emergency set I would go with the part # TC1547 instead. These are still pretty easy to install and will give you excellent...
