Wiring a trailer can be tricky, but the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector keeps it clean and easy. It plugs right into your vehicle’s existing connectors, so there’s no need to cut or splice any factory wires. The plug-in setup makes it straightforward to get a solid connection for your trailer lights.
Once connected, the harness gives you a standard 4-flat trailer plug that runs your basic lighting—running, brake, and turn signals. It’s everything you need to stay visible and safe when towing smaller or mid-size trailers.
The integrated converter helps make sure the vehicle’s lighting signals are properly transferred to the trailer, including when vehicles have separate brake and turn circuits. It keeps the wiring working the way it should so your trailer lights respond correctly every time you hit the brakes or signal a turn.
If a light ever stops working, the harness design makes it easy to check connections or test continuity with a multimeter before and after the converter box. Each connector clicks securely into place, reducing loose connections and making it straightforward to track down issues like bent pins or faulty signals.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins plug-in simple vehicle wiring harness with a 4 pole flat trailer connector. This product fits a 2001-2003 Dodge Caravan, Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, and Chrysler Voyager. Provides a 4 way flat connector at the back of the vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. It is compatible with 5 pole, 6 pole, and 7 pole adapters. Adapters are sold separately and it's going to come with a dust cap for the 4 way flat connector. That way you can cover up the connection points when the plug's not being used. The black box right here is the included taillight converter.
This is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. The unit connects quickly and easily. No cutting or splicing is required. Just locate the connection points behind the taillight. It's going to be the driver's side taillight and plug in your connectors.
They're a perfect fit. They're going to snap lock together for a nice, tight, secure connection point and again, the wiring harness is custom fit for your vehicle. It's vehicle-specific. Once you have those plugged in, you can mount the converter box with the included cable ties and then you need to route this down to the trailer hitch. Once your installation's complete, the 4 way connector's going to be stowed beneath the vehicle near the trailer hitch. We do recommend using a mounting bracket to keep the connector secure and easily accessible.
Mounting brackets are sold separately. If you're in need of one, you can find them here at etrailer.com and then we also want to encourage you to use the included grease packet on all your electrical connections like the plug on the vehicle and the 4 pole connector itself. It's really going to help prevent corrosion to the connection points. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at 2.1 amps per circuit. That's going to do it for today's look at the Hopkins plug-in simple vehicle wiring harness with a 4 pole flat trailer connector.

Wreckedcar before we got to install it.
Fit like a glove and super easy to install! Customer service was amazing too! Adam is the best and i couldn't have done this without him! He helped me on a pinch and delivered on time!
easy to install, the lead to the tail light needs to be longer, had a little trouble getting it plugged in due to the short length, other than that it worked well.
Correct for vehicle. Fast easy install. Long as it lasts would recommend and buy again.
