When towing pushes your truck's brakes harder, you want a brake you can feel. These low-metallic brake pads deliver a strong initial bite with a bed-in coating for quicker break-in, giving you an immediate response when it matters most.
The first thing many people notice while towing is how much harder their truck has to work to stop. More weight means your brakes have to absorb more heat and manage greater braking forces with every stop. Suspension enhancements can improve ride quality, stability, and control under load, but they don't give your brakes any additional stopping power. Timbren Brake Enhancement System brake pads focus on that missing piece, using a severe duty low-metallic friction formula that delivers a stronger initial bite and more consistent braking when towing pushes your factory brakes harder.
Heavy trailers and loaded trucks can expose the limits of standard brake pads, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. The extra weight keeps moving forward after you press the pedal, which can make the truck feel slower to respond and leave you wondering whether you gave yourself enough room. These pads use a low-metallic friction formula that grabs quickly as soon as you apply the brakes, giving you braking you can feel the moment you press the pedal. That response matters when traffic stops abruptly, a vehicle pulls out ahead of you, or the trailer starts pushing harder than expected. They won't change the laws of physics, but they do give your truck a more immediate and predictable braking response during hard stops. The friction material also resists fade as heat builds, helping maintain smooth, consistent braking through repeated stops. Premium multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help absorb the added vibration that can come with a high-bite pad, reducing squealing and chatter without dulling the response you bought them for.
Many high-performance brake pads are designed around lighter vehicles, spirited driving, or track use. These are not. Timbren brake pads have been field-tested in towing, utility, municipal, off-road, and fleet applications where heavy loads, repeated stops, and higher brake temperatures are simply part of the job. Their severe duty formula delivers the strong initial bite associated with performance brakes while handling the added weight and heat that come with pulling a camper, boat, equipment trailer, or other heavy load. Designed for front wheel applications, depending on your vehicle, they give towing-focused drivers a practical upgrade made for the way their truck is actually used.
Brake performance depends on more than the friction material. If the shape, thickness, or density changes from one pad to the next, the way each pad contacts the rotor can change too, leading to uneven wear, inconsistent pedal feel, and braking that does not feel the same from one wheel to another. Positive mold manufacturing compresses each pad evenly inside precision-machined molds under high pressure and heat, creating consistent density and precise dimensions. That consistency helps every pad contact the rotor the same way, producing more predictable pedal feel and more even braking.
New brake pads need time to transfer an even layer of friction material onto the rotor before they reach their intended braking performance. Timbren's brake pads include a bed-in coating, a thin friction layer applied to the pad surface that helps speed up the break-in process. The result is better pedal feel right after installation and less time waiting for your brakes to reach full performance, so you spend less time breaking in new pads. Changing brake pads is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you'd rather leave it to a pro, find an installer near you.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at these Timbren front wheel BES disc brake pads. Now, these pads have been designed to fit your 2019 to current Ram 2500 and 3500. And on the 3500s, this will be without the high output transmission. So on custom fit parts such as these pads, I do recommend going through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer and put the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if these pads will work for you, or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Speaking of our fit guide, we do carry these pads with rotors that are fitted for your vehicle.
So we do carry complete kits. So if that's what you're looking for, you want the rotors and the pads, again, our vehicle fit guide will point you in the right direction. So if you do a lot of towing or hauling, your factory brake pads can start to feel overwhelmed by that extra weight and you're probably already experiencing that now. So these severe duty brake pads are designed specifically for trucks that tow and haul, giving you that stronger initial bite and more responsive pedal. So you're gonna feel more confident when you need to slow down.
So whether traffic suddenly comes to a stop or someone pulling out in front of you, these pads are gonna give you better control during hard-braking situations. These are also built to handle the heat that comes with towing. The fade-resistant friction material is gonna maintain consistent braking performance through repeated stops. So your brakes are going to stay predictable even on those long grades or stop-and-go traffic. And because these are low-metallic pads, they're gonna naturally provide more stopping power, but they could potentially create more noise.
So to help with that, here on the other side, we have these premium multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims that are going to help reduce the squeal without sacrificing brake performance. I wanted to show you there on your screen just a breakdown of what that multi-layer construction looks like on that shim, and what the brake pad looks like by itself without the shim, just to give you a better view of the construction. Each pad is positive-molded. That's going to ensure consistent density and precise dimensions for even wear and reliable braking performance throughout the life of the pads. If you notice here, we do have an included bed-in coating here indicated by the blue stripes on the pads.
That's going to help these pads deliver a solid pedal feel right away while shortening the break-in period. Insulation's going to be straightforward. It includes everything that you see here. I think that's going to wrap up our look today. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

Haven’t put many miles on them just yet, but they stop very quickly. Shipping was great, and packaging is nice. Blue covers are a nice touch to the pad as well. Will update after I wear them out
