Hi Kacey,
I don’t blame you at all! Air bags can get expensive, especially when you factor in the compressor, and Timbrens can feel pretty stiff and make the ride rougher than you’d like. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs, part # SS46KJ, are a nice middle ground to consider for your 2013 GMC Sierra 2500.
I like these because they offer progressive support based on the load. With lighter loads, they compress more easily for a softer engagement and a less bumpy ride. When you’re towing a heavier trailer or carrying more weight, they compress further to provide additional support. They also work independently to help compensate for off-center loads and reduce body roll during turns.
Another nice thing is that they’re maintenance-free, so there are no air lines to run or air pressure to keep an eye on, and they install without drilling. If you want extra support without dealing with an air bag system or a setup that feels too stiff, these are definitely what you need.
What tear drop are you towing?
