Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this GSI Outdoors Escape HS Collapsible Pot. Now this is a three liter collapsible backpacking pot that's designed specifically to help save space without sacrificing performance. What makes this really stand out is the hybrid construction. The walls are made from flexible silicone, so the whole pot is going to be able to collapse down flat for easy storage.
Now if you see here, this is obviously brand new, so the collapsing isn't as easy as it will be once you use it. I talked to someone here who ha has something like this, and it took a few times for it to actually collapse the way that it should as you see here, but it is going to collapse down flat. And so the whole pot is going to be able to take a nice flat form just as you see it here for compact storage. But the base is hard anodized aluminum, and that means that this is going to heat quickly and evenly over a traditional camping pot. Now that aluminum base is actually designed to be hyper conductive, so it's going to cook faster and use less fuel, and that's going to be a big deal when you're out backpacking and carrying limited fuel.
And this really does have a great practical lid as well. This strainer lid is going to let you drain pasta or vegetables all without needing extra gear. And it has silicone thumb pads here, so you're gonna be able to handle it more safely when it's hot. And then we do have a a handle here. It's gonna fold away, and it's going to let you easily remove that.
And then we also have these handles here that fold away, and, also, will keep the the lid in place when this is in storage. So, pretty sweet, and it's gonna, again, collapse very easily. Now what I want to do is pop this back up and see if I can give you some measurements here just so you have a good idea of the size. So looking for my ruler here, looking at the overall height, let's call it, looks like pretty close to about 5 1/4 inches or so when it's fully extended. And then when you collapse this.
Let me try that again. There we go. When you collapse this, I'm gonna go ahead and pop the lid on as well. And again, you see how those handles here on the side fold down. It's gonna keep everything compact. It's gonna be roughly two inches tall. And then looking at the, if you wanna call it, the diameter here at the top, it looks like. Let me do it this because I do wanna include the handles here. Looks like we're pretty close to about 10, 10 1/4 to 10 1/2 inches. And then looking at the bottom here, the base about nine inches or so, depending on the angle that you're shooting for there. So overall, this is going to be very convenient to use. Obviously, it's in green, and it's gonna hold up really well for you. If you happen to have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out. We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
