Features to know about

Clear Cooking Odors in a Compact RV Kitchen

Cooking in a small RV kitchen can fill the space with smoke, fumes, and food odors fast. This 12V range hood provides 105 cu. ft. per minute of ventilation and uses a charcoal filter to help remove fumes and odors, giving the cooking area cleaner air while you make a meal.

Choose Ducted or Ductless Ventilation

RV kitchen layouts do not always use the same vent setup, so this hood supports both ducted exterior venting and ductless recirculation. The included charcoal filter is replaceable and easy to clean, helping the hood keep filtering air without turning maintenance into a bigger job.

Keep More Room Above the Cooktop

Space above the stove matters when you are using taller pots or larger cookware. The slim under-cabinet design helps maximize space above the cooktop, while the LED light improves visibility and the 1-button control keeps operation simple while cooking.

Video Transcript for Review of Furrion RV Range Hoods - Stainless Steel Ductless RV Range Hood - FR38EF

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this Furrion stainless steel ductless RV range hood with charcoal filter. Now, if you're looking for a simple way to improve air quality in your RV while cooking, this range hood is designed specifically for those compact RV kitchens. Its main job is to remove smoke, cooking fumes, grease, and other odors. So your living space will stay fresher and more comfortable, especially when you're preparing meals in a smaller area.

Before we go any further, let me give you some measurements. I'm gonna give you a closeup here, get my tape measure. So looking at what we're calling the overall width, pretty close to 23 and a half inches. And the depth here, or the length, I'm gonna say right about 16 and three quarters, and then the height, about four and three quarters. So hopefully that gives you a good idea of what to expect regarding the size.

As you can see, I do have this wired up here. I just wanted to show you what this light was going to look like. And I'm gonna turn my studio lights off here real quick. That doesn't always translate real well over the camera, but just wanted to show you how bright the light was. I'm gonna go back out to my wide view here.

So as you can see, I think it lights up the surface area pretty well. So this has a slim under cabinet design. That's a gonna be a big advantage in RV because it's gonna save that valuable space above the cooktop. It's gonna give you extra room for larger pots and pans and that integrated LED light is gonna do a great job of, as you saw, illuminating the cooking surface, making it easier to see what you're preparing, whether you're cooking during the day or night. Actually at my house, that light is typically on all the time just to give me a little bit of light in the kitchen.

So I'm a big fan of those lights. Now, operation's gonna be pretty straightforward. You've got one button control for each of the functions, so that's going to be the light function. And then you got the fan, (fan whirring) and it's just a one speed fan. Turn that off just like that. Nice buttons here. Very positive operation there. So it feels nice and satisfying there. You'll know for sure whether it's activated or not, either by the sound or the push of the button. Now I'm gonna go ahead and disconnect this from my power source here. It's kind of limiting me as to how much I can move this. So let me go ahead and unplug this real quick and then I'm gonna remove these blocks here, I want to give you a clear view of the underside here. So operation's gonna be pretty straightforward as I mentioned. It's gonna be very easy to turn the light on and off, and the fan on and off. The hood can be installed as either a ducted system that vents air outside the RV, or even as a ductless recirculating system. That's what we call it in the title here. So this is gonna be very flexible depending on your RV setup. For ductless applications, it does use a charcoal filter to help capture odors and those cooking fumes. So I'm gonna go ahead and just pop this open here real quick. You see the fan, then you see the filter, and then you can see it's gonna be very easy to change that filter when needed and do any other maintenance here. So a nice, clear access panel here. And then just gonna lock that into place. (panel clanking) And we're back in business there. And let me give this kind of a turn here just so you can see the other angles. From a durability standpoint, this range hood is built with it's stainless steel finish here in the front. So it's gonna give you a nice, clean, modern appearance. It's gonna fit well with today's RV interiors. It's also engineered with RV travel in mind, featuring vibration-resistant construction to handle those bumps and movement as you're going down the road. In addition, it is temperature-resistant, and so that design's gonna help ensure reliable performance across a variety of weather conditions and climates. You are gonna get some screws included here to get this mounted in place. But I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I will mention if you don't really wanna bother with installation yourself, on this product page, we have a link that's typically found underneath our photo section. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the install for you. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
