Today we're taking a look at the Screen Shot automatic screen door closer for RVs. Now this product's been designed to automatically close your RV screen door when it's left open. It's compatible with Lippert Components' screen doors. It installs quickly and easily into the inner channel of your screen door frame.So this bar goes across the width of the actual door. This piece, this ribbon, connects to the framing that goes around the screen door. And so whenever this is pulled, it's attached to an internal spring.
And so what that does is it always wants to bring the bar back. And so that is how this operates as an automatic screen door closer for your RV.It's available for doorframe widths ranging from 22" to 30". You can check out all those options at etrailer.com. All you need to do is measure the inside dimensions of the doorframe, edge to edge, and round up to the nearest even whole number, and select the screen door closer that's appropriate for your application. Everything that you need for the install is included.

I am very happy with this door closer. It works quite well and alleviates having to always turn around and close the screen or accidentally leaving it ajar.
Closes the door just like it's supposed to. Actually slams it, might try to move anchor point to release some of the pull to slow it down. 15 min installation.
Ordered this item with a additional XXX.XX doller order needed to return this item and they want to change me return shipping I would rather sell it cheap than pay return shipping
Not happy. Actual 26" only measures 24" so does not fit screen door. Now we have to order 30". NOT HAPPY we have to order another. We expected to get a true 26" length.

eTrailer delivered quickly. This was a reorder to exchange the shorter (28”) version. It took longer to assemble the tools and read the instructions than it did to actually install the product. Works like a charm. DW is highly pleased, so I scored brownie points with this. ??
One note: the Screen Shot that Lippert says will fit a 28” (inside to inside) door frame is about 2” too short; the 30” Screen Shot fit our 28” door frame perfectly.

It is an adequate closer, but could be beefed up a bit to make a stronger product.

I purchase the screenshot I absolutely love it I measured my door just the way they said, I love that it is lightweight and it keeps the bugs out just as promised.
As for ordering through etrailer I love being able to talk to someone who knows what there talking about I recommend etrailer to all my RV family.
I was expecting it to insert into both ends when mounted on the door (as the pictures show). Have a 28" wide door opening with sreen width 27.5". The length of the assembly is 25". There is 2.5" of spring or strap showing. The tube is low cost plastic. Would've preferred they sent it longer and I could cut to fit. Looks as if I bought the wrong size and installed anyway.

It didn’t fit. Had to send it back. Made measurements before buying it. Disappointed.
As always, etrailer did not disappoint; delivered quickly and at a fair price. Installation was far easier than I had anticipated. The Safe-T-Rail is far better than the one we previously had. Had to re-order the Screen Shot; the 28” (LC730814) that Lippert said would fit my 28” door frame was, in fact, about 2” too short. The 30” (LC730815) fit perfectly. Be aware if your door frame (inside to inside) is about 28”.

After a year, the product continues to perform flawlessly. It has been a very good purchase. I’d buy it again.

To make sure that you have the correct size you would want to measure the inside the entry door from edge frame to edge frame and round up to the nearest even number. If that number is the 28 inches that was mentioned in the review, then the part # LC730814 is the correct. I do want to mention that this only works with the right-hand Lippert doors. While standing outside of your RV, looking at the door, the hinges should be mounted on the right.
