Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra 12 gallon RV freshwater tank. It's a lightweight completely algae free black ABS plastic construction. Tasteless, odorless, and non toxic design. You don't ever have to worry about this tank rusting or corroding. It's a one piece extruded construction, which eliminates the possibility of leakage. It's a really nice design of the unit.
It's a universal design, so it allows for an easy installation. It does feature three 3/8 inch thread fitting inserts on each end. The one on this end is the open fitting. The other two are not open, so they just have the threads but it does have a back plate in there. You going to have 3 of those, located on each end of the tank. A few measurements to go over with you real quick.
Starting with the overall length. It's going to measure about 24 inches long. About 16 inches tall, and if we take a width measurement it's going to measure about 8 inches wide. Again the capacity is 12 gallons, which is 45 liters. On the sticker that's on the tank, it's going to go through just some helpful information. It's also going to go through sanitation process and instructions.

Nice water tank. Perfect size for my need. As usual etrailer was the price leader with lightening fast delivery. No reason to ever look elsewhere for your vehicle/trailer needs.
The first one I ordered split down the middle upon filling it up and it flooded my van. I probably over pressurized it. It was out of warranty. Because of the size restriction I ordered another one which has been working okay since.

Nice looking and very well put together from the mounting hole to the weld around the edges. Very impressed with the fresh water tank. Haven't put it in yet, but will come back with an update when I do. These tanks will fit nicely, the measurements are right and correct to what they say, about them in the specification section.
I installed this tank in my Sprinter van RV conversion project. It has functioned very well, and is well made. I have it tucked into the back of a floor height cabinet, and is hooked up to a to a pump and my sink. I took a bit to get around to installing it after I bought it, but I have been using it for months and it is great!
The tank is installed in our Transit van and fits quite well on top of the rest wheel well. I wish it had come with better instructions on the size of threaded that fit and how to open the holes.
This water tank worked perfectly for my need. Its durable, and easy to install fittings into. Just used my drill and a hole saw to install the fill port. The fitting kit came with everything needed to make it a simple process.
looks like a great water tank. eventually will be installed in our Sprinter conversion van.
Installed it and discovered a leak. Will be asking for a replacement.
This was a fast easy Transaction with E-trailer and I use them for just about all my parts for the RV.
The installation was super easy.
This Tank fits quite a few different Models.
When You get it you will need to drill out the already marked holes for your specific needs.
I set my old cracked tank next to this one and just copied what I had with the new replacement tank.
A little bit of plastic glue, which they sell the kit for that too.
Let the new tank dry over night and install in the reverse order you removed it.
Reconnect the lines and your done.
It just does not get any easier then this folks.
Great design that allows for many layout options. I have a small 6'x12' converted cargo trailer. The tank does not take up a lot of real estate which is exactly what I needed. I wanted floor space for comfortable movement inside the trailer and for cargo hauling when not camping. I had to modify the tank in order to add a water guage sensor and a screw out deck plate to clean the tank. I do not recommend these modifications to be implemented by the manufacturer as they may limit the orientation options. The tank is built very well. It has a solid interior spine that provides stability. I was able to see the inside of the tank when I installed the deck plate. I don't have any complaints so far and I believe this tank will serve me for many years. Just remember to measure 10 times and cut once for any modifications. It plastic that holds water, so there is zero margin for errors.
I actually have not installed it, my husband discovered the other tank was not busted, it just did not have a cap and the water was draining because of that, it is put up in storage for a just in case.

Great quality and a variety of hookup points make it a versatile tank for the do it yourselfer like me.
Tank was damaged in shipping. The side is dented and the seal is broken, there for it will leak.
Great upgrade for my popup trailer! No leaks or issues after 1 year and several camping trips. Didn’t take too long to attach the fittings and install. Great support from etrailer too!

The RV water tank works Just perfect. One heads up to all purchasing a tank - remember it needs a vent coming off the front top of the tank or it will burst when you add water - I learned the hard way.
Nice water tank that fits in my Jeep ni cely.
