Hello everybody, this is Jeff at Etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Ramp Gate Seal Kit with the 35 foot long Hollow Half-Round Seal for Enclosed Trailer Ramps. Now this will let you protect the inside of your enclosed trailer using this hollow half round seal ramp gate kit. This will help prevent water and debris from entering your enclosed trailer. And the kit will include everything laid out here on the table. Starts with this 35 foot long hollow half-round seal with the 3M adhesive tape, has the ramp gate corner seal, this plastic scraper tool that you use for removing your old seal, this tube of Loctite Super Bonder and a nice detailed instruction sheet that'll describe how to install this.
Now this kit will provide this perimeter seal right here and the corner blocks found on many of the toy haulers and car trailers. The corner blocks are basically cut out of this large block of sponge rubber and they're installed to the corners using this Loctite Super Bonder. Now the perimeter seal, I wanted to show you, we're gonna zoom in so you can see a close up on the design of that. We mentioned this perimeter seal is constructed of EPDM sponge rubber, will not shrink, crack or fade over time and it is resistant to UV and Ozone exposure. You can see it as a hollow, half-round seal design and it is a peel and stick installation.
You can see it has this pre-applied 3M adhesive backing. You just simply peel off the backing paper and then apply this seal. Also, what's nice, if you look real close, this does the seal features the skirted peel and stick recessed adhesive design. And what they mean by that is if you look here as the adhesive strip, but if you look on each side of it, it has the seal actually comes down around the adhesive strip. And that feature protects the adhesive tape from collecting moisture and debris.
And when it's installed gives a nice finished look when the seal is in place. Now the dimension on the seal itself, it is 35 feet long. The width on the seal is three quarters of an inch wide. Height is nine sixteenths of an inch tall. This is made in the USA.

Yes it's expensive! But the seal kit is the best on the market that we found!!! We converted our construction tool trailer into a camper now that we have retired and after 17 years on the job the ramp door seal needed to be replaced. This product kit had everything and the product the new seal material was better than the one installed new on this cargo trailer and we bought one of the higher-end trailers to start with. With a lot of life left in this well built trailer we decided to do this conversion and this seal kit completed the job and we are now ready for the adventures ahead.
The seal kits has everything you need to install the seal on a Toy Hauler ramp door. The issue I encountered was that the instructions for cutting the 45 degree corner cut is impossible to create a good sealing corner. After a few tries following the instructions, I made a 45 degree miter joint jig out of wood to hold the bulb seal while cutting the 45 degree with a meat carving knife. I then glued the bulb seal 45 degree corners together using the Loctite super bonder 495 that comes with the kit to form a 90 degree corner.
Was thinking this project would take several hours but with the help of my son we had it all done in less than an hour. Good seal kit and easy to install. Hard to see in the one photo of my old seal but it was pretty well flattened and I'm sure not doing the job of keeping water out.
