Replacing a cracked or discolored skylight garnish means you need a proper fit without guesswork. This inner garnish fits standard 1" x 24" cutouts lets in more natural light, and gives your ceiling a finished look.
Finding a replacement that lines up with an existing cutout can stall a repair, especially when exact specs are unclear. This garnish is built for a 18" x 24" cutout with a 20" x 26" flange, so it aligns with common opening sizes and provides full interior coverage. You can focus on matching the opening instead of chasing exact model specs.
After removing a skylight, exposed foam and wood around the opening can leave the interior looking unfinished. This garnish installs on the inside to cover those rough edges and sits flush against the ceiling. The white sidewalls help conceal those edges, while the clear top still allows light through. The result is a clean, finished look without blocking natural light.
Interior trim that sits too shallow can contact the skylight above, especially with thicker roof or ceiling construction. With an approximate 6" bubble height, this garnish provides additional depth to work with thicker ceilings while avoiding contact when measurements are verified. You keep proper clearance without interference.
Fully clear garnishes can highlight unfinished areas around the cutout, while fully white ones reduce incoming light. This design uses a clear top to allow direct light in, paired with white sides that help hide exposed foam and wood. You get a brighter interior without drawing attention to rough edges around the opening.
Missing hardware during installation can slow things down if you're not prepared. This garnish installs using 1" screws, which are not included, and some people add butyl tape (sold separately) inside the flange. That tape can help block water from getting inside, while others skip it so any skylight leak shows up right away instead of being hidden. Having your materials ready and knowing how you want to seal it avoids delays once you start.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at the Specialty Recreation clear inner garnish for your RV skylight. Now, replacing your skylight should not be a regular job. This interior portion is made from UV-resistant polycarbonate, so this is built to resist sun damage and lasts for many years to come, keeping your RV protected from leaks and exposure. You're gonna use this in an 18-inch by 24-inch cutout, and this is going to be sized with a 26-inch by 20 inch flange. The rigid design is going to stay put.
You're not gonna have to worry about warping or lifting between screws after installation. I do wanna point out that you are not going to receive any hardware with this, so you would have to provide the necessary hardware. So this is a clear polycarbonate, so this is going to let the maximum amount of light inside of your RV. There's not gonna be any need for modifications. So once this is installed, the flange is going to sit flush with the ceiling and you're gonna have about a six-inch bubble height for that extra headroom.
If you do decide to pick this up, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with the installation and use of this. So you can share your experience with us by dropping a comment or leaving a review on this product page. We would love to hear back from you. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.
Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
