Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Seaflo Black 12 3/8 inch wide by 17 1/4 inch tall Multi-Purpose Access Door. Now, this multi-purpose access door will allow easy, keyless access to a compartment on your boat or your RV, so this is ideal for accessing control panels, valves, wiring. If you noticed, it comes with the dual quarter turn recessed latches, so you can see if you turn these a quarter of a turn, they do turn independently, so it allows you to open the door just like that. And it's a very easy open hatch door, and if you noticed, it'll swing the full 180 degrees to give you plenty of room to reach your gear. The durable, water-resistant synthetic fittings and the rubber seal here, this will help keep your compartment dry when the door is closed, so when you close that and then lock it with the two handles, that'll seal it and keep any moisture from getting inside.
This is a low-profile hatch, it's designed to mount flushed to the surface. Now, it does use a non-skid surface on the top here, let me just zoom in a little bit closer, and you'll be able to see the texture on that. That non-skid surface will prevent any slipping when this happens to be installed in the floor. And then also, I wanted to show you, if we open this up, if you look on the under side of the lid, you'll notice how it has this heavy-duty support braces that are all built in, gives extra support to that lid, so if this happens to be installed in the floor, if somebody would step on it, it still support it, it wouldn't do any damage to the lid. It is a strong ABS plastic construction, does resist UV rays, road salts, acids.
Now, the mounting hardware to install this is not included, you would have to supply that. And just wanna show you on the frame of this, when you go to install it, there are the mounting holes already drilled, so all you have to do is supply the mounting hardware to install it. This one is a nice black color, this hatch also is available in a white color, which we do sell separately on our website, and it's listed on this product page as a related product. Last thing I wanna do is give you some dimensions on this, so we're gonna do the external dimensions with this door closed, which will be the width and the height. So if we do the external width, one side to the other, 12 3/8 inches wide, and if we do the external height, bottom to the top, 17 1/4 inches.
And then what I wanna do is open this door up, and then we're gonna measure the opening, width and height. So if we do the width, the opening width is 9 3/8 inches wide, and the opening height is right at 14 inches tall. But again, you can see we can flip this door all the way closed, rotate the latches a quarter of a turn, locks it in place, and it's all locked and ready to go. But that should do it for the review on the Seaflo Black 12 3/8 inches wide by 17 1/4 tall Multi-Purpose Access Door..

The shipping and processing was great and the quality of the access door is really nice. However the door will not work for my application. The 9-5/8 wide door has an opening that is only 6-1/2 wide and I need 7 inches. I’ll keep this door and use it for a different application, it will cost to much to return it.
Arrived timely and looks like good quality. We will install it next week. This will give a bit better access to the area where the water valves are located
This is exactly what I was looking for as part of my camper remodel. These doors are sturdy and they seal very well. I didn't want another key to get into a storage area of my camper. These latches are great and you can change the direction they close in so all the latches on both doors go in the same direction.
Don't for get to buy some sealant for when you install them.

I was excited to receive my hatch door.
I after opening it it seemed to be well built and nicely packaged when pulling back the plastic wrap I did notice it had a few scratches on the front.
I’m not too worried about the scratches because it’s really not that visible from our house.
This is going on the outside of a new Spa that we are putting man made veneer stone on.
The door or hatch is exactly what we needed.

Nice solid door, smooth latched and simple installation. Used it on my houseboat, we removed the old propane water heater and needed a cover for the hole left behind, but wanted it to be a door so we can access the new electric water heater for service in the future. I’ve had it for a year and it looks great and hasn’t faded in color.
Looks great, Easy Install. However....The latch broke within a year. Bummer. But I should add that E-Trailer responded quicky on a warranty claim. Overall it is good product but could use some R&D improvement. I'd much rather just bought the one piece that broke.
Appears to be great quality. Arrived quickly and was adequately packed. Installed on RV easily.
Unlike other products purchased from E-Trailer that have performed well this product not so great. With minimal usage in one year of ownership the latch mechanism failed. I will be seeking a warranty replacement.
