Today we'll be reviewing part number CAM42613. This is the Camco RV Awning Repair Tape, measuring 15' long by 3" wide. The adhesive tape is going to provide a nice permanent repair for rips and punctures in your RV awning or other types of materials that are similar to that, like a pool cover, a tent, and many more. This also resists tearing in any direction so it's a very strong adhesive tape. Again, total length is going to be 15' and your total width is going to be 3". This is a great product because it's a do-it-yourself project. You don't have to take it to a dealer to get your awning repaired, or your tent, or your pool cover.
You simply use this as a quick fix, a quick solution, and it's going to get the job done. The way that this works is that you would want to ensure that your surface is clean and dry. You can clean it with a mild soap and some water if necessary. When the surface is completely dry, then you can use rubbing alcohol on a clean white cloth to scrub the tape bonding area thoroughly to remove any coating that may stick to the adhesive material on the tape. You want to give the surface plenty of time to dry, and then without touching the adhesive side of the tape, you can simply go ahead and apply the tape directly to the dry surface and then use firm hand pressure to ensure that everything is smooth as it should be and you're getting that nice fit. My awning is 5 years old and the tape did an excellent job of covering the tears.
The adhesive appears to stick very well to the awning material. The 5 inch width is perfect. Tape was applied on sunny, 90+, day.
The tape went on easy and is still holding my canvas awing together we’re it was earring thin along the exposed roll up seam. Product does work.
