Video Transcript for FAQ Cleaning Gray And Black Water

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna walk you through and tell you some helpful tips and tricks on how to clean and rinse your black and gray water tanks. Now you might be wondering why is this important Well, it's important for a couple of different reasons. Main reasons is that over time you can have some residue build up on the walls and on your sensors in your black tank, and the same with your gray tank. You can have food residue or dirty shower water sticking to the walls of your gray tank, and that just happens from emptying your tanks. It slowly empties, and that stuff will stick to the walls.

Regularly rinsing and cleaning your tanks will eliminate the problems of your sensors not working properly in your black tank, and it's going to give you a much better smell if you're having odor issues with either tank. So there's a couple of things you need to do before you can actually go about rinsing your tanks. So the first thing you need to do for the black water, you need to empty your tank and then refill it halfway, and add a cleaning pod to your tank. For your gray water, you need to empty your tank, then you need to refill it again halfway, and then use half a cup of water softener and half a cup of either laundry detergent or just dish soap, and add that to that half a tank of water. And then what you're gonna do is you're gonna need to drive around for a while.

The best time to do this that we've found is to either add this before you leave to go to your campsite or when you're at your campsite and you're ready to head home. That's gonna give you the most agitation in the tank to be able to knock that stuff off the walls and get the tank really clean. So after you've driven around for a while and you've given your tanks time to get some of that solution mixed around in there, it's always a good idea to take a tank cleaner like this and what you do, this particular one has a spinner on the end of it, so will actually spin and clean the walls of the tube going down into your black tank and on the walls of your black tank. So all you have to do is just open up your tank, slide the spinner down in it, and then turn it on. And then you just move up and down so that it gets the whole walls of your tank.

Once you've got your tank rinsed, you can do your final dump. When you're doing this final dump, you may see some particles of toilet paper coming out. That's a good sign. Well guys, once you have your tanks completely drained, you're good to go. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below and we'll see you next time..

Great at keeping black water tank clean.

by:

Unfortunately, because of my plumbing I have no way to use this. I gave it to a friend though and it works well if you have straight piping into your tank.

I’m glad I found this web site. The prices are right on. I’ve compared them to other sites and found etrailer has better delivery time when comes to days of receiving the item(s). I will continue to order from here,

Great tool. Works just as I wanted it to. Another fine product from Etrailer.

It does the job well but I did find the same item at a camper supply 2 blocks from where I was staying for2/3 the cost. All in all I have no complaints.

I have had problems with my black water tank level indicator. It shows various levels of full even when I know it is empty. I even bought some expensive level probes that were supposed to be protected from debri interference. They were just as inaccurate as others I have used. After I purchased my Camco spinner and used it for 15 minutes my probes were clean and my tank showed empty. So now when my probes become fouled, I use my spinner and things get back to perfect. Just the way I like things to go!

We bought the Swivel Stik RV Black-Water Tank Rinser last year and have used it a few times since. It's "cured" the problem we had with false readings from the black-water sensors immediately. I highly recommend this item!

Just tried the wand out and it worked really well better than I expected. To tell you what I had for a problem will be helpful.

I bought my fifth wheel trailer new May 20th of 2016 and today is October 26th 2017. When I bought my fifth wheel trailer they didn't tell me about the flush system on the black holding tank so I ended up never flushing my holding tank until today. Here about a week and a half ago I looked in the toilet with a flashlight to see if there was any buildup and there was a tremendous amount of buildup in it. Reason for this I'm living in that trailer full time since I bought it and I haven't parked on a lot. All I ever done is fill the tank up and drain it fill it up and drain it and never flashed that's I had a huge buildup. Well I stuck the one in there and it cleaned it right out.

This was a severe problem and it handles job within 5 to 10 minutes. You can't go wrong buying this product and the Price Is Right on it.

Plus I live in a Northern climate and it got cold last winter and I thought I might have a problem with my holding tank which I didn't better got 35 to 40 below zero. I highly recommend again for anybody having a problem or need to flush out there sensors to buy this product.
