Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Valterra Flush Mounted Telescoping Gravity Fill Water Inlet for RVs. This unit allows you to add or replace a gravity fill water inlet on your RV or camper. To open the unit and fill your fresh water tank, all you have to do is lift up on the latch, pull out, and simply pour in your water. When you're done, just close it and the latch snaps shut. The unit does feature appropriate seals internally for leak proof performance. It is a flush mount installation, so once it's installed, this is the only portion of the unit you'll be able to see.
It contains a total of four mount holes that are already drilled out. Mounting hardware is not included. These mount holes are separated on a square pattern, and they're separated on center by two and a half inches.A cutout is needed for the installation. This area right here has a diameter of around two and a half inches. The unit also has an air vent located right here.
This allows air to escape to keep pressure from building up inside the fresh water tank. That's a 3/8th inch connector for the air vent.Back here we have the barb inlet for connecting the RV plumbing to the gravity fill inlet. It starts out as a one and 3/8th inch barb inlet, and it increases to an inch and a quarter barbed inlet. Overall measurements. Going this direction, three and a half inches by three and a half inches.
It's made from a durable plastic construction that's black in color. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra Flush Mounted Telescoping Gravity Fill Water Inlet for RVs.

Telescoping gravity fill inlet gives you a large opening to make it easier to refill your RV's holding or fresh-water tank. Slides in flush when not in use. Connects to your fresh-water tank with 1-3/8" or 1-1/4" barbs. It replaces exactly what was there - my primary goal and I'm pleased it's available on a 40+ year old vehicle. However, like the old one, this one will leak a significant amount of the water you put into it. Not a big deal if you're using a hose and have ample water, but should someone be filling from containers that will annoy you like the one you're replacing. I find the video blatantly misleading on this point as he literally states "has the appropriate seals to prevent leaks". I thought "great, they've updated it." Nope. It is 100% hard plastic just like the old one and there is no seal of any kind. Not a big deal, but I gave it 3 stars as I literally am aware this old design leaks and the video kind of promises that's fixed. Solid - will last another 40 years I'm sure.
Good quality filler, replaced the original on my 1989 Bigfoot truck camper. That one lasted 35 years.
E- trailer always exceeds my expectatio ns!
I haven't installed it yet but it seems like a good product comparable to any I've seen on RVs. Of course, customer service is always 5 star e-trailers.
Item as described, it fits the opening of the old water inlet. I have not hooked it up or used it, (cold weather) but I have made a garden hose filler for it where I can fill the fresh water tank with water pressure using this gravity filler product. No problems.

Exactly what I needed for my tear drop camper build. Have yet to install, but I belive it will work perfectly.
It leaks out of the bottom, so you waste quite a bit of water. When filling up in the desert, it's a noticeable puddle beneath your rig.
