Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the side mount ax brackets for your Front Runner Slimline II platform racks. Now, this mounting system here will let you transport an ax on your Front Runner Slimline II platform rack. It is designed to work with most felling axes. These two brackets will basically install in the side rail channel of the Slimline II platform rack.
Just to give you an idea of what we're talking about, I'm gonna pop up an insert. There you can see these brackets on the rack and you can see the ax in there. This will free up any rack space for a tent or other gear on top of your rack. And you can see it's a durable steel cage here. Helps protect the ax head during transport.
Now, the handle bracket right here, this is what'll hold the handle of the ax in place, and it does it by going through the ax handle. So what you'll do is remove this eye ring, and then this bolt goes through your ax handle. So it will require you to drill a 12 millimeter mounting hole through the ax handle and then put your ax handle in there. Tighten this down til it's snug, and that'll hold it all in place. It's very easy to load.
Just place the ax in both these brackets, tighten the eye nut down, and then as I mentioned, it's held tight against your brackets to eliminate any rattle. If you notice on the bolt they do have a hole drilled through there, and that'll allow you to drop a small padlock through there to secure the ax to the bracket to prevent any theft. The lock is not included. We do sell those separately. Parts on this, they're black powder coated steel, resist corrosion.
Application, as we mentioned, they fit the Front Runner Slimline II platform racks. And last thing I wanna do, it does come with all this hardware to install it. Last thing I wanna do is give you some bracket or dimensions on this head bracket here. So if we do the width, it's gonna be right at 4 3/4 inches wide. If we do the height, 9 3/4 inches tall. And the total depth on this is right about one and three quarter inches deep. But that should do it for the review on the side mount ax brackets for your Front Runner Slimline II platform racks.
