Today we'll be taking a look at Landing Pad 21 for Yakima SkyLine Towers. This kit is going to give you everything you need to get your Yakima SkyLine Towers mounted up on your roof for a heavier system, something like a platform rack or a rooftop tent. This is going to be a very heavy duty system that can handle those higher weight capacities. We'll have our base that'll go on either side. We'll have four total, so two for the front, two for the rear of our cab. Comes with the covers to go over the top whenever you're not using the system, and that just covers up all the hardware, keeps any dirt or debris from getting collected in there.

Then we'll also have our riveted base. That's what our foot will sit on top of. Then we'll have our hardware to go down and attach that.The one I have on here is going to be a flat foot. It comes with these rubber feet to go around and create a seal against your roof and also protect your roof line from any dirt or debris. There's four flat style or just smooth style, so that'll fit well for the naked roofs, if you're just attaching to the top of your cab, but if you have a roof that has a rain gutter or a channel and you need something that has this little bump out there are four of these as well.

These are a little bit taller so they do give you longer bolts to make sure that you can still get into those riveted bases.This install does require some drilling into the cab of your vehicle to get everything installed. It is a permanent mount since these are going to be riveted to your roof line and you'll have four of these. They are covered by this black portion here. This is made of a sturdy material that's going to be UV resistant and it'll protect those as well. We'll get our structural rivets that will go down in there and keep everything really nice and secure.

To get those in place you have to use a more heavy duty rivet gun than just the pneumatic style. That's going to be the lever style rivet guns or the bolt cutter style. So it has those two big handles that you use to get those in place. The little pneumatic ones just aren't going to have the amount of strength to get those rivets properly in place, so keep that in mind.You can find those lever style or bolt cutter style rivet guns out there if you need to pick one up. We'll also get some silicon sealant to seal up all our holes around the rivets to make sure that there's no ingress of water or dirt, get an allen key to tighten up all our bolts, and some washers as well.
