The flush design keeps the crossbars tight to the roofline for a clean, from-the-factory look. Nothing sticks out past the legs, so the rack looks integrated and low profile. With bars custom-cut to match the roof width, there’s no adjustment or trimming needed. The matte black finish adds a subtle, factory-style touch that blends with your vehicle’s lines.

Wind noise can make highway trips unpleasant, but these slim, elliptical bars are built to keep things quiet. The rubberized Vortex strips in the top channels disrupt airflow with wave-shaped grooves that minimize drag and whistling. You get a quieter ride even at higher speeds without needing an extra fairing. The strips also keep dirt out of the channels and cushion clamp-on accessories.

When you’re hauling gear like kayaks or lumber, you want to know your rack can handle it. The structural-grade anodized aluminum crossbars use internal H-shaped extrusions for impressive strength without adding unnecessary weight. With a rack weight capacity of 220 lbs (always follow your vehicle’s roof load limit), this setup stays solid under load. The UV-treated, glass-reinforced nylon legs are built to handle tough weather and sunlight over the long haul.

These bars give you flexibility for any adventure setup. Use the built-in C-channels for channel-mounted carriers like bike racks, watersport carriers, or ski holders. The split Vortex strips make mounting easy—just trim and reinsert them around your accessory hardware so the channels stay sealed and quiet. You can also use clamp-on accessories that rest directly on the rubberized tops for slip resistance and cushioning.

Each leg includes locking covers that secure both the rack and any channel-mounted gear in place. These sturdy nylon covers give a finished look while deterring theft, and all locks are keyed alike so one key handles everything. Whether you’re parked at a trailhead or campsite, you can leave your rack mounted with peace of mind knowing it stays put until you’re ready to roll again.

Installation was straightforward and I feel stronger than the factory crossbars which clamp on, as these cross bars screw into the connect points for the rails. These rails are also flatter than the factory installed rails. But are not perfectly flat. Roof-mounted bike racks may still lean a little bit. Which what I was trying to solve by replacing the factory cross rails/bars.
Just wanted to say thanks. The Rhino Rack crossbar kit arrived custom fit for our 2021 Grand Cherokee. Solid, fits perfectly. etrailer's video for installation was a huge help.
Great price and value, Locks included! No wind noise and they look pretty sharp. Shipping and delivery could not have been smoother.
Well packed, easy instructions, solid installation feeling with professional results.
Dressed in business casual, I removed the covers and installed the racks in less than 30 minutes so we could drive it on the expressway and check for wind noise and no wind noise.
The Allen wrench tool worked great, there was minor alignment on one nut, other wise, with a small flat headed screw driver to remove the covers, and a Phillips head screw driver to secure the bars, it was really straight forward and easy to get professional results.
We just attached a hundred pounds of wood and it rode perfectly and again no noticeable noise or issues of any kind.
I kept the heavy plastic packing and slit it to protect the bars from scuffing, wrapping the clear plastic and securing it with small strips of 3M duct tape and then remover them.
We used one of the packing bags to place the instructions, the old covers, and the covers provided and the tool to store with the spare tire.
Great design, we like the black, on a black car and it works great.
Thanks for a great product and your video guides ensure even a first timer, has the confidence to do it and do it right.
One recommendation: Deburr the inside of the aluminum extrusion (mounting bracket) and the tube slides in easily for everyone. Regardless, it went together with a little extra pressure.
I purchased these crossbars for my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The fit guide from Rhino Rack indicated that they are "not confirmed to fit." However, I took a chance and they fit perfectly. They actually look like they were installed at the factory.
Finally finished my Rhino-rack roof rack install on my 2022 Hyundai Kona. I had problems understanding confusing directions and found out after calling and sending a video that there were wedges missing from my original shipment. I thought the bolts were too long only because pieces were missing. I thank Wayne from customer service for helping me figure this out and shipping them out next day air. I am happy with the install and they are sturdy and high quality. Just think they should make directions easier to understand. Happy customer just in time as we are planning a vacation starting tomorrow night to the beach! Good job etrailer.com!
top quality materials, instructions could have been a little more detailed but it was pretty easy to assemble/install otherwise. I wish Rino-Rack have a silver/brush aluminum version instead of only black (the box actually shows a silver rack). Haven't driven with the racks installed yet so I don't know how quiet they are. I have a set of Thule Aero bars that are whisper quiet so I'm hoping these are the same. I would recommend.....
I purchased a Rhino Rack RVP Roof Rack (RRRVP27) for my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. The product installation was straightforward and the crossbars have a sleek finished look. I use the crossbars in conjunction with two Thule Sidearm 594XT bicycle racks and the setup works great.
I appreciate that the product blends in nicely with the look of the vehicle as the crossbars do not extend past the roof line and that security locks are included with the system.
One drawback is that the crossbars, which are designed to be whisper quiet, whistle while driving. I have a panoramic sunroof which may be a contributing factor to the increased noise levels and this may vary with a traditional roof.
Rack is solid, attractive, and well made. The "rack kit" comprises three separate kits; the base kit which includes the brackets and hardware that attach to the oem rails on the vehicle, the feet kit which attach to the crossbars to allow the crossbars to attach to the base rail brackets. Consequently, I found the printed instructions lacking in content and continuity (more on that later), but overall the install is reasonably straight forward and intuitive.
As someone with arthritic thumbs I found inserting the mounting screws and attaching the rubber skirts to the base rail brackets, along with insertion of the rubber strips into the crossbars to be somewhat of a challenge. In addition, the feet kit was short on mounting hardware and the hex-head cap screws supplied were not desirable for mounting feet to base brackets so I sourced replacement hardware locally.
Back to content and continuity of written instructions. No mention that crossbars were location specific and cut too different lengths and can be distressing if you don't think to check fit at the start of installation.
Otherwise, the rack looks good and is solid on the roof. I have not noticed any appreciable increase of wind noise before/after rack install and would not hesitate to recommend to a friend.
P.S. Jesse and the folks at etrailer were great to work with/answer questions.
Great customer service great prices easy to install. I really, really love it.
Great product! Needs better instructions. Rather than trying to picture the very small torx screw head in figure 8, show leader lines from the screw to the correct bracket holes to be used. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with these cross bars.
I got this roof rack for transporting my canoe on my 2012 CRV - the roof rack installs very easily and didn't take much time to put together. It goes on/off the car easily, so I can take the bars off when I don't need them. I don't notice much noise or difference in driving quality with the bars on vs off.
great help, very patient
I've made a big mistake. I didn't realize one was shorther than the other. So when i installed them, I shorthen the longer one to fit at the front. When I took the other piece for the back, then I figured my mistake and realised I screwed-up.
Too bad because it looked super nice.
Great craftsmanship! Easy installation!
Nice product, like that it bolts to the car verses clamps. Perfect fit which was the most important thing for me after a nightmare experience from [online store]; you get what you pay for. This rack is sturdy, took about 35 minutes to install, and looks great on the Sorento.Perfect height, not too tall and blends with the lines of the vehicle. No noise while driving so I'm stoked that a fairing isn't needed. Didn't give 5 stars because when factory / etrailer cut both the extruded aluminum rails to length the black finish has some chips / cosmetic defects. Minor thing, can't see it unless you look for it, and it is a roof rack so it will get banged up eventually regardless.
First purchase with etrailer and I will shop here again. Will also consider Rhino Rack products again as well.

Over a year and still Loving this product. Still think it is one the best looking and sturdiest racks on the market. Carried bikes and kayaks all the time without worry. Ive also taken it through the carwash atleast 50 times.
Great shopping experience. Product was shipped and received in a timely matter. We had to cut the center bars to fit but I am very satisfied in the product and shopping experience.
I likely would not but this model again. The installation was not fully clear, and what should have taken 30 minutes took 2 days, mainly due to lack of clarity leading to stripped threads on the bolts because the front bar was cut too wide. After I cut the front bar a quarter inch shorter, and bought replacement bolts, it went easily. But I should have bought one of the more expensive models that clamps on to the rail; More flexible, if less strong. No concerns with the actual construction.
Great communications from etrailer and shipping company. Product is excellent fit on my 2017 Sorento and was easy to install
Order was packaged very well and was shipped promptly; however base kit was mis-packed at Rhino Rack and was missing a part. etrailer responded promptly and I received the part I needed to install the rack system within 3 days of reporting it. After preparing my flush racks for mounting the Rhino Rack, I discovered that both vortex bars were too long to fit my 2019 Kia Sorento SXL. I disassembled one end of each bar and used a chop saw to remove 5/8 inch from the front bar and 7/16 inch from the rear bar. After trimming the rubber and drilling new screw holes in the cut ends, I reinstalled the mounting legs and installed the bars without further incident on the car. This rack system will be the heart of my hang glider transportation after I fabricate a hood rack and a rear receiver rack. Took longer than I expected but I had the time and tools to make it look factory installed and custom fit. In retrospect, and given the delays due to poor quality control at Rhino Rack and my having to re-cut both bars to properly fit the fixed mounting points on my car, I feel a fairer price for the system would be in the range of $325.00 to $350.00, rather than the nearly $500.00 I paid for it.
The bars went on my 2018 Kia Sorento quite easily. Something I didn't realize was that because they have to be mounted in a prescribed position when I received my Rhino roof basket the baskets mounting points don't line up at all with the crossbars. I was able to mount the front as intended but I had to basically kind of make my own mounting brackets for the rear of the basket. My design worked and looks ok but it's totally not the way I would have wanted to mount it. Had I known I'd have spent the extra money to get the crossbars that you can put wherever you want to.

I have used the rack numerous times in the year since I got it. It still looks brand new and was well worth the money.
