Light changes how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the rear quarter stays dark and harder to use. This fixed rear quarter window swaps that solid section for glass, bringing in daylight and visibility without creating an open window.
This window replaces the solid metal panel in the driver-side rear quarter of your 148-inch extended wheelbase Ford Transit. Instead of a blank section along the back side of the van, you gain a fixed glass panel that brings light into the cargo area without adding moving parts or vents. It keeps that section sealed while opening up visibility.
The glass is tempered and meets DOT and SAE standards for road use. Tempered construction allows it to handle normal vehicle movement and, if broken, it fractures into small pieces rather than sharp shards.
The rear quarter panel sits at eye level from outside and creates a direct view into the cargo space. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the rear quarter panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at this Van Windows Direct fixed rear quarter window for the driver's side of your 2015 through current Ford Transit, either T-250 or 350 rear quarter panel, the driver's side. This is gonna be a 148-inch extended wheel base. It will not work with the Ford Transit Connect, so make sure you're double-checking that fit guide. Be sure you're getting the right parts the first time.
Now, folks, this is gonna replace that solid metal panel towards the rear of your van. It's gonna give you more natural light and better visibility into and out of that space. And because this is a fixed window, there's no sliders, vents, or moving parts to operate or worry about. The glass itself is a tempered glass, so it is strong, it's safe. It meets all DOT and SAE standards.
As you can see, it has a nice gray privacy tint. It's about a 17% tint rating, and that's gonna limit how much someone can see inside and also how much you can see outside. It's gonna reduce the glare. It's gonna stop about 83% of the UV rays, and that's gonna help keep the inside of that van nice and cool as well. Now, again, this is a formed factory size, so it's gonna be, follow that stamping in the metal of your factory transit driver's side rear quarter panel, and that's gonna give you that OE look and ensure it's gonna fit properly.
Now, to install this, you're gonna have to cut the factory panel. You're gonna need some automotive urethane to bond the window directly to the van. If you don't have that, you can purchase it here separately. Just keep in mind that you will need that, again, if you're tackling it yourself. If you don't wanna tackle the install yourself, we got etrailer affiliated places around the nation.
Just scroll down and find the install locator link below, put in your zip code, and based on your location, we can match you up with somebody in your area to do the install. Well, folks, that will wrap up our time together. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
