This is a low tech item (a key), but since I don't think Thule makes the same model bike rack anymore I was apprehensive that I would be unable to find a replacement key for the hitch mount. I was pleased that this key fits perfectly and now I can remove/remount the bike rack as necessary. BTW, I got my Thule bike rack from eTrailer and was very pleased.

I lost my original keys for my Thule bike rack. I am pleased this replacement key worked just fine. I purchased my Thule bike rack from etrailer and was certain they would have a replacement key. I have been satisfied with all the items Ive bought through etrailer.

Discovered eTrailer after an extensive search to find a key that would unlock the roof rack of my 2011 Mini Cooper Clubman. Was happy to see that their keys fit perfectly! I noted the number off the key lock was 009 and ordered THKEYN009. Search no longer for a key to these racks. Call the service team at eTrailer and they can get a key for you, at a great price, and you won't have to wait long before it arrives.

Please note that the original keys that came with the SportRack systems were slightly shorter than the replacement options are. There is a notch inside the lock core that may inhibit the replacement key from fully ing into the lock core. When you receive the replacement keys you may need to tap the key into the lock core with a rubber mallet to fully the key. This only needs to be done the first time you use the key.

Since it is a Sportrack part I can tell you that the original keys that came with the SportRack systems were slightly shorter than the replacement options are. There is a notch inside the lock core that may inhibit the replacement key from fully ing into the lock core. This key didn’t open my Sportrack Kayak rack. The keyhole says 009. Eek help !

You did everything right, its puzzling why this key isnt working for you. One thing you may want to try is to tap the key in with a mallet and see if that gets things working for you.

You did everything right, it is not uncommon for a key to need to be broken in, so to speak. Some people use a rubber mallet and tap the key in and then can turn it from there.

The key works perfectly. I had a car topper that had been sitting in my yard for several years that I wanted to use. I tried every key I could find but could not open the topper. Once I figured out the number key I needed, I ordered a new key from etrailer. The company had great communication letting me know when they received my order, when they shipped it and when I received it. I would highly recommend etrailer for replacement keys.

This has come up before with other people stating they need the 600 key for their cargo boxes and after some conversations with Thule we've discovered that the 600 key does not exist but many people are just reading it upside-down. The lock core you have is actually 009, and therefore you'd need the Replacement Key for Thule Racks and Carriers - N009 # THKEYN009.

Troubleshooting Replacement Key for SportRack Roof Rack
If the lock core on your SportRack roof rack has "009" printed on it, the Replacement Key # THKEYN009 that you referenced should be the correct replacement. When using a new key like this one, it is not unusual for the fit to appear off the first time you use it. You can use a rubber mallet or small hammer to gently coax/tap the key into its fully-inserted position. This should get the key to work and you will only need to do this the first time you use it.

Thule made those racks for Mopar, so the Thule # THKEYN009 would be the correct replacement. The older lock cores were just a little shallower than the new ones, so you might have to seat the key fully the first time by giving the key a tap with a hammer. You'll only need to do that once.

On your second hand cargo box, there may be a number on the lock cylinder. If so, see if we have a replacement key using part THKEYN_ _ _ .
