What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out these wheel straps for your Swagman Bike Racks. They're gonna be a replacement part, so maybe if you broke one off or it came detached, you can easily replace that and not get a whole new bike rack. Let's check it out. So we got our wheels strap here. We're gonna replace where our old one used to be.
You wanna make sure you have the hardware for your old one. It does not come with the hardware. You're gonna put this into place, we'll run our bolt through and put the nut on the other side. So we're gonna set that in the cradle there, we'll line up the holes, run the bolt through, through the strap to the other side and then we'll add the nut. I'm gonna get it hand tight and then come back with a ratchet and a socket and tie it down further.
Got a 5.5 socket with a ratcheting wrench to tighten it down. (ratchet clicking) It does not come with the bumper so if you have that left over from the broken strap, you can add that on to the new one. Just the same, just slide it on and now it's just like the other one. (strap clicking) It really is that easy to replace that strap. You can get it attached there in no time as long as you still have the hardware and if you still have the bumper, you can slide that on there too.
I like that you can only replace one strap if you need to. You don't have to buy a whole new bike rack 'cause you definitely want to have both wheels straps when you go to put a bike on here, you don't wanna do it with just one and the hook, it's not gonna work out as well. Service was fantastic. When the mail driver showed he delivered when he hadn’t, even though I put in a request through the mail carrier. E-Trailer was willing to do it with their representative as well. But later that day, the mail carrier found the package and came back out.

Product zippers failed after less than a year. That caused the cover to start to come apart at the seam.
So glad to be able to repair my bike rack with this. Perfect!
Shipping was fast. Thank you. Haven’t put them on yet but I bought them to replace the ones we had that seemed to have rotted and broke in half. Thankfully we didn’t have our bikes on when this happened but I am interested to see how long these will last. The original ones were only about 17 months old. Perhaps swagman can come up with making them out of a material that doesn’t breakdown so quickly or at all. If they were to break like our originals did when we were going down the road with our e-bikes the back of our vehicle, it could have been disastrous.
I give etrailer 5 stars for having everything we ever need and for their fast shipping but I can’t yet rate the Swagman straps until we see how they hold up.
Said it was in stock when I ordered but it wasn't. Took over 2 months to get if but replaced my fat tire straps perfectly. We order most bike and trailer items from etrailer.

Had to replace after slashed by bike robber. They could have just unlocked. Would be nice if there was a metal strip through it to prevent or trouble robbers from cutting it.
