What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out these wheel straps for your Swagman Bike Racks. They're gonna be a replacement part, so maybe if you broke one off or it came detached, you can easily replace that and not get a whole new bike rack. Let's check it out. So we got our wheels strap here. We're gonna replace where our old one used to be.
You wanna make sure you have the hardware for your old one. It does not come with the hardware. You're gonna put this into place, we'll run our bolt through and put the nut on the other side. So we're gonna set that in the cradle there, we'll line up the holes, run the bolt through, through the strap to the other side and then we'll add the nut. I'm gonna get it hand tight and then come back with a ratchet and a socket and tie it down further.
Got a 5.5 socket with a ratcheting wrench to tighten it down. (ratchet clicking) It does not come with the bumper so if you have that left over from the broken strap, you can add that on to the new one. Just the same, just slide it on and now it's just like the other one. (strap clicking) It really is that easy to replace that strap. You can get it attached there in no time as long as you still have the hardware and if you still have the bumper, you can slide that on there too.
I like that you can only replace one strap if you need to. You don't have to buy a whole new bike rack 'cause you definitely want to have both wheels straps when you go to put a bike on here, you don't wanna do it with just one and the hook, it's not gonna work out as well. Product zippers failed after less than a year. That caused the cover to start to come apart at the seam.

Great product, after traveling well over 5,000 miles, we have absolutely no problems with the swagman products. Would definitely buy again

No Issues what so ever. Works as if I just installed it. The only thing I replaced were the tie down straps.
