Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the replacement latch kit for the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series fifth wheel tailgate on the Dodge Trucks. Now, this kit here will replace two lost or damaged latches on your 100 Series fifth wheel tailgate from Stromberg Carlson. It is designed to fit the fifth wheel tailgate part number of VGD-10-100. The kit will include everything laid out here on the table. We'll start with the two latches with the hardware and then the rings.
That'll replace the cotter pins on here. You can see these are the spring loaded latches, comes with the two rubber bumpers that'll go in there on both latches. Comes with a passenger side bushing, which will go in the tailgate, has a notch in it. Comes with a driver's side bushing, that's a full bushing. And then on the driver's side, you'll also use this rubber bushing with a slot in it.
Now, the bushings are designed to keep the tailgate centered and properly aligned for opening and closing. It comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this all goes together, and these parts are made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the replacement latch kit for the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series fifth wheel tailgate on the Dodge Trucks.
Only problem the lower pivot PVC replacement parts do not work. Inside diameter is to big. I used the old parts instead.

I had purchased a used 5th wheel style tailgate for my 2004 Ram 3500. It was in rough shape but I got it cheap. The hardware was rusted, one latch was broke and the paint was faded. I disassembled it and had the tailgate powder coated. It was a chore to try and find the replacement hardware since I really didn’t know any information on it. I decided to take the hardware with me to etrailer and they knew exactly what I needed to complete my restoration of my tailgate. I got the kit which came with everything I needed. Not only does it look great on my truck it works perfectly. Thanks again to the etrailer team for helping me find the parts I needed. Y’all rock!
