Replace the switch plunger of your Roadmaster stop light switch.
Features:
This kit allows your RV's monitoring system to alert you whenever the brake pedal of your towed car is pressed down. This avoids any errors where the actuator is activated but doesn't actually press the pedal, or vice versa. This could lead to a situation where the braking system is pressing the pedal down continuously, causing extensive and expensive damage to your vehicle's tires and brakes before you realize there's a problem. With this plunger installed, you will know precisely when your car is braking and when it is not.

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the replacement switch plunger. Now this is going to be for the Roadmaster stoplight switches. And what those basically do for us is let our system know whenever our brake pedal is being depressed. So this is going to be pushed up against that brake pedal arm, and as it swings back, it pushes against that little knob there at the end and sends a signal out to either our stop or our indicator light on our braking system for our RV.
Or maybe in some instances, you might have to use this with a brake controller. If you can't find a hot side for the brake light signal. So whatever instance you're using this for should give you that brake light indicator that you need. It does have two little jam nuts to go over a bracket, so if you want to put this in place on an existing bracket somewhere underneath your dash, so they can have access to that brake light or to that brake pedal. There are also custom-fit brackets that usually come with those brake switches. So again, if you're replacing one that you already had, you should already have that custom fit bracket for your vehicle.
Of course, you can always try to fabricate up something yourself, if you don't already have one, but you can always check etrailer.com, use our fit guide, put in your year, make, and model, and you'll probably be able to find a fit for your vehicle if you don't have that.On the end here, we'll have two spade terminals or two little open terminals, so we can attach in our wiring with a couple of spade connectors. Plunger on the other side jam nut, as far as the overall length, give you guys a measurement for reference. It's about three inches long overall, the widest portion there is about three-quarters of an inch. Our jam nuts are about the same three-quarters of an inch. And that switch length is about a quarter of an inch, so it's about how far it needs to travel to engage.
That's going to do it for our look at the replacement switch plunger for the Roadmaster stoplight switches. If you need any other accessories or replacement parts for your braking system or any kind of brake system, you can always turn to etrailer.com to find those parts. Thanks for watching..
