A broken propane line can release propane rapidly from the cylinder, creating a serious fire hazard. This fitting connects a POL cylinder valve to a regulator with a 1/4" female NPT inlet and restricts flow during a major line break.
If your regulator has a 1/4" female NPT inlet, it needs the correct fitting to connect to the POL valve on your propane cylinder. This brass fitting makes that connection, with a hard nose POL that threads into the cylinder valve and a 1/4" male NPT that threads into the regulator.
A major break downstream of the cylinder can release propane rapidly and create a serious fire hazard. The built-in 0.9 GPM excess-flow valve restricts propane leaving the cylinder when flow reaches its closing rate.
