Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Superchips Flashcal Calibrator for the GM and Chevy trucks. Now folks, this is a custom fit application. Make sure you're checking our fit guide at etrailer.com. Go to the homepage, top center, where it says Vehicle Information. Enter things like year, make and model, gas, diesel, any kind of other questions it asks you.
I can tell you without looking that this fits in a range about 1999 through 2016, give or take some of those years and model. So again, check the fit guide. Make sure you get the right one for your application. Now getting into it folks, this will let you calibrate your vehicle and turn it into a superior off-road machine. So most people get these to recalibrate and correct the speedometer.
For instance, you've gotta upgrade on tire size and you need to correct the speed and the speedometer showing. So this will let you fix from 26 to 38 inch wheels. It'll let you correct this pedometer. You can recalibrate the factory speed again to get the correct gear ratio to speed and all that. You can also do the rev limiter options, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System or TPMS, and you can read and clear diagnostic trouble codes as well.
You get a nice little charging unit here, USB to the little mini charger. Here's the display unit. I got just the regular sticker that comes with it, new outta the box, just says thank you for your purchase and it tells you where to go to get the instructions and whatnot. You've got the other end of this cord. It's gonna plug into your OBD-II port underneath the dash.
Very simple installation and setup. Just follow the instructions that come with it. You should have no problem whatsoever. Now, one thing to note, not all the features or monitor parameters are available for every single vehicle that this fits. So if it's got that feature, it'll automatically pop up on the display. If you don't see that feature on the display, most likely it's not gonna work with that specific vehicle for that particular option. Bought this for my Silverado 2500HD. After I purchased the tuner add on, it significantly increased my horsepower. Its a difference of night and day. I initially had a problem with configuration of the tuner. A couple phone calls to SuperChips tech support and it was fixed with 3 updates. Etrailer and SuperChips customer service is second to none. I will pay more for my purchases just for the peace of mind knowing a company always stands for their customers
