CIPA Blind Spot Mirror - CM49702

  • Stick-On
  • Convex
  • Rectangle
  • 3-3/4L x 2-1/2T Inch
  • CIPA

Avoid tricky blind spots when passing or changing lanes with this convex HotSpot mirror from CIPA. Easily sticks to your factory mirror.

Features:

  • Unique wedge shape helps to prevent blind spots when you are passing or changing lanes
    • 30 Percent more visibility than round convex mirrors
  • Convenient stick-on application
  • Versatile design fits most cars and trucks

Specs:

  • Wedge housing
  • Convex mirror
  • 2-1/2" Tall x 3-3/4" long
  • Easy installation - sticks onto OE mirror
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Hot-spot mirrors may be placed anywhere you wish but are typically placed on the bottom outside corner of the OE mirror. The desired placement varies from one person to the next. CIPA recommends placing a piece of folded tape on the back of the hot spot and sticking it onto your OE mirror where you think you might want it. Then sit in your car and look through the hot spot. Keep adjusting the placement until it suits your needs. Finally, remove the folded tape, peel the adhesive backing tape off the hot spot and apply it permanently.

I mounted these mirrors on our Winnebago Ford E350 chassis. It has the standard Velvac mirrors with the stick-on blind spot mirrors. The stick-ons used up a lot of my flat glass real estate, making it harder to see behind us. To upgrade the Velvacs would have cost a few hundred dollars. Over a two week period I devised a couple of mounting solutions. I bought two 5/16" ubolts to mount onto the mirror arms. The radius was large enough I used fuel line to pad and insulate the ubolts. One thing I appreciate about these mirrors are the wrench flats on the 1/4" stud and the fact that the tension can be adjusted on the ball joint. etrailer good service as usual.

I ordered the wrong size. Should have ordered a 3”

by:

Hello,
Yes you can use my install
for feedback.
Only thing is I should have checked to see if you had not sure what they are called but “ brackets “ that go around bars for mirror mount would be nice to have a choice of size. Hard to find and would have saved me shipping and made a bigger sale.
??Maybe you could put a pop up
“ wait before you go, have you considered mounting hardware? What size pipe are you going to mount mirror to? “??
Anyway here is mine.
I Needed to put extension mirrors and wanted square ones to match and found them on your site. I still need to figure out one mount need like a 3” arm and a 1-1/2” and 1” clamps to stabilize passenger mirror.
Two things I didn’t like was..
1, the loose mirrors inside the plastic housing probably going to just put clear silicone on edges.
2, the sticker ....
“ objects in mirrors are closer than they appear “
has glue that’s hard to remove and leaves a residue. Cling on label would have been better.

Thanks for your feedback. This stick on mirror is one of the larger ones that we do sell but depending on your mirror size and shape a type of towing mirrors might be beneficial to you. I have included a link to all of our universal towing mirror options for your reference.

These finally get rid of the massive blind spots on my 2019 Tundra with 8foot bed. Only gave it 4 stars because it does not appear to have the good 3m tape so we'll see how long they hold up.

by:

I bought this product a year ago and it has worked great. It works well with my existing mirrors to help check my blind spots while driving. Would definitely buy this product again if I needed to.

by:

Best blind spot mirror I've seen. Perfect shape, size and visibility. My electronic blind spot alarms don't work in the rain, these do.

Part # CM49002 is a smaller wedge-shaped CIPA stick-on hotspot mirror. It measures 1-1/2 inches Tall x 2 inches long.

Very good rectangular mirrors for my van.
Easy
to install on existent mirrors.
When first installed, one fell off. Fortunately, it was in the parking lot. Reinstalled it and it’s still fine after a year.
You can see the edge of the glass very slightly. Not really a problem.
I would recommend this product.

  • Door Mounted Towing Mirror Recommendation for 2010 Toyota Prius
For a door mounted mirror for your 2010 Toyota Prius I'd recommend the CIPA Deluxe Door Mirror part # 11650. This is our highest rated single door mount mirror that is telescoping and can extend out 17 inches. It does not have a convex mirror though as none of our options have that. You could add a stick-on convex mirror though with the part # CM49702 to gain even more of a viewing angle.

  • Is the Reflecting Surface of the CIPA Wedge Blind Spot Mirror Plastic or Glass
The CIPA Wedge-Shaped, Stick-On HotSpot Mirror - 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" - Convex # CM49702 are made from a plastic with a double sided film for the mirroring. The plastic mirror with the double sided film is going to be the industry standard for this style of blind spot mirror and I wasn't able to locate anything similar that used glass.

  • Availability Of Convex Mirror Head For CIPA Deluxe Door Mount
Hey James, thanks for reaching out. As far as the replacement mirror heads, all we have are flat mirrors like the # CM95500 you were looking at. We don't have anything like this with a convex surface. If you want to add a convex surface for increase visibility, we do have convex stick-on mirrors that you could add on. Take a look at the following: - K-Source Blind Spot Mirror - Convex - Stick On - 3-3/4" Round - Qty 1 # KS88MD - K-Source Blind Spot Mirror - Convex - Stick On - 3-1/4"...

  • Does the CIPA Wedge-Shaped, Stick-On HotSpot Mirror Have to be Facing a Certain Direction
Actually, on a CIPA Wedge-Shaped, Stick-On HotSpot Mirror # CM49702 it does not matter how you have it oriented. You will apply the mirror in whichever way gives you the best view. It will be different for every vehicle. Before sticking it on you would sit in the vehicle with the door closed and have some one hold the mirror to the factory side mirrors and change positions until you find one that works best for your particular set up.

  • Recommended Universal Towing Mirrors for 2003 Ford Explorer XLT
In your situation, the CIPA Deluxe Door Mount Mirror, part # 11650 would be your best bet. When used along with your existing mirrors, this 5 by 8 inch mirror will provide a large field of view of your trailer while it is being towed. As you will see in the video that I will link you to, these mirrors are very easy to install. You could also use a stick on HotSpot Mirror, like part # CM49702 that would extend your field of view even further.
