Carry More Without Losing Bed Space: 500-lb Aluminum Ladder Rack

This Adarac Aluminum Series ladder rack gives you 500 lbs of carrying capacity—250 lbs per bar—so you can easily haul ladders, lumber, piping, or outdoor gear like kayaks and surfboards. The over-bed height design keeps your cargo clear of the bed so you still have room below for tools or camping gear. Its contoured uprights sit neatly along the bed rails for a clean, aerodynamic look while keeping your load stable and balanced.

Keep Your Bed Cover and Still Add a Rack: Tonneau-Compatible Design

You don’t have to choose between a rack and a bed cover. This rack works with Access roll-up covers and many other inside-the-rail tonneau covers, letting you keep your cargo protected while adding overhead storage. The framework sits above the bed rails, so it won’t interfere with most in-bed toolboxes or other mounted equipment.

Stay Organized on Every Haul: Utility Rails and Slotted Crossbars

Square crossbars with mounting channels on the top and bottom make it easy to attach accessories or tie-downs wherever you need them. The removable rubber strip keeps loads from slipping and cuts vibration, and the utility rails have their own channels for more mounting options. Sliding load stops are included to keep your gear in place, and each one has an integrated hook for extra tie-down points.

Install It Yourself: No-Drill, Foam-Padded Mounts

You can mount this rack without drilling into your truck. The foam-padded utility rails clamp onto the bed rails using the included aluminum stake pocket inserts, protecting your paint while giving a solid, secure fit. Uprights can be repositioned or removed along the rails when you need to make room for tall cargo or want to switch up your setup.

Built to Last Through Work and Play: Rustproof Aluminum Construction

Made from lightweight, rustproof aluminum with an extruded anodized finish, this rack is made to handle weather and heavy use. The corrosion-resistant materials stay looking sharp while supporting everything from jobsite materials to weekend adventure gear. The anodized silver finish adds durability that stands up to the elements season after season.

We bought the Adarac as a way to bring two kayaks along on trips while towing the travel trailer.
The vehicle is a 2022 Silverado 1500 crew cab short bed (5.8').
It works perfectly with a WeatherTech trifold cover in place.
As another review mentions, for the cover to open, the uprights need placed tight against the end caps and the base bars need mounted as far back as the rail pocket mounts allow for.
Because the factory bed side cap is plastic, a torque spec for the mounting bolts would be helpful to provide proper tightening without crushing the plastic support ribs.
This is especially important on the front mount where there isn't a split washer to gauge the pressure with.
We covered a few hundred miles on the first trip without anything loosening.
It was easy for two people to lift it off the truck in one piece and store it for the next trip.
I have shipped the kayaks a few different ways on different vehicles and this was the easiest.
Two kayaks fit side by side without leaning them on additional brackets.
The rack provides a non-slip rubber insert along the top rails.
There are two strap paths readily available at each crossbar.
One path passes through slots in the uprights and the other through the plastic end caps.
We used one path for the primary straps and one for the backup straps.
Both paths are easily accessible while standing on either the tailgate or the rear door sills.
The steel uprights required some touch ups due to shipping scratches.
We'll see how well the paint holds up over the long run.

Great rack. Wasn’t too hard to put together but the instructions could have been more product specific. We have been looking for something for our R1T to carry our long Kayaks and other things.

This product is solid and well built. Instructions were easy to follow. About 45-60 minute install. Looks good on my Silverado. Would highly recommend.

I gotta agree with you, Brian. It looks AWESOME. Would you have any tips or advice for anyone else looking to install this on their truck?

Real happy with this ladder rack. I ordered the aluminum series because the flat black series was not available at the time due to material availability. I used a good brand-name flat black paint and other than a few touch-ups, it's holding up well. The install was a little tricky getting the width right so I'd recommend following the directions exactly as listed in the instructions. My wife and I carry two kayaks, one a Pelican Catch 120 sit-on and one 10' Perception sit-in, with easy securing with Malone straps and no shifting nor sliding. This rack is solid and good looking. We especially like the fact that you can use it with a tonneau cover in place.

This is a great, sturdy product. I purchased it to carry Kayaks and Canoes on my F150 and it's the only reasonably priced solution I could find that didn't require me to remove my Backflip bed cover. The only drawback is that it uses the stake holes in the bed to attach it and Ford covers the front ones up on the short bed version of the truck. If you have the long bed F150 you won't have any issues.

This has been a great ladder rack. I purchased the rack to carry a two person 13' Vibe Fishing Kayak long distances as we travel with our camper. The Adarac Rack is easy to remove when not in use and the rails mounted to the truck look good either way. I paired the rack with a Lamma Rack to secure the kayak. Together it's a great system. Highly recommend!

Ladder Rack came in earlier than expected to start. Good looking rack once installed and time will only tell how it holds up, but it seems good and sturdy. Easy to install but had to take into account the bedcover and readjust the rails with the upright arm mounts attached a few times. I've got a tri-fold bakflip cover. Giving it 4.5 stars because I had to mount rails all the way back so I could clear the upright arms with the bedcover. Doing so makes the rail not sit over front stake pocket by ~1/4 inch or so. Overall, it works and is safe + looks good on the truck!

Great Customer service

Tried to get this locally installed. They said there were none available and couldn't order it. Basically I left there feeling disappointed.
After a Little research I decided to try etrailer. The people there are great and exceeded my expectations. They ordered it from the manufacturer and had it shipped directly from them. It arrived before I anticipated it would and I did the installation myself. Great product..thanks

Good product

Solid, easy to install, only thing nicer would be to have stainless steel hardware and to smooth out the welds in a few spots for a more professional finished look.

I love this rack system. Easy installation and looks great on my truck. Steve.

Super strong / easy installation 30min

Toyota Tundra
It’s been a wonderful rack !!
Best i have ever had
And I have had a few 5-6 over the last 40 years
Most to haul canoes kayaks ladders long lumber plywood mattress and box springs
But ……I am having to elevate my canoes on a elevated extension Closed cell foam to increase my height so the bow does not rub and rest on my Tundra roof.
Can do
Love the rack !

I purchased it for my Rivian R1T the mounting supports for the uprights had cutouts for the tunnel and tailgate buttons. This is a good ladder rack. I bought it to carry ladders, long length lumber and pipes. Also it is easy to remove when not needed. The rails mounted to the truck look good with or without the uprights. It's a great system. Highly recommend

Looks great only thing was the directions really were no help so need to know little about it

2024 Chevrolet Colorado
The Adarac Aluminum Ladder Rack is a great product that's easy to install and looks great on a Colorado. Installation instructions say to remove the taillight housing to install the rear mount. You can not get to where the nut plate goes from there on a '24 Colorado. You need to reach up between the wheel well and where the taillight housing mounts.

2018 Chevrolet Colorado
This is a what I wanted, I only gave it four stars because the install video and instruction pamphlet do not completely represent a 2018 chevy colorado, had to call adarac to see what the issue was! You have to remove rear tail lenses for install, not overly difficult, you are left with 2 additional mounting plates. No wording of this which makes you scratch your head! Also you have to figure out distance in between bed for long mounting plates! overall I am satisfied with product and would purchase again from etrailer. In final I did speak with customer service and there was a little phone tag, always friendly and supportive. Thank you

2011 Ford F-150
Love it! Holds my 14.5 ft kayak with no problem even with the 5.5 foot bed. Looks great on my truck!
by:
I bought this model to fit/accommodate the weather tech trifold alloy bed cover. I had to set the racks at the extreme ends to open the bed cover (required some trial and error).
Very pleased with the rack functionality and the look with the truck.

  • Tonneau Cover and Ladder Rack Options that Fits 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 6-1/2 ft Bed
The issue that you'd most likely run into with the BakFlip you have # BAK48101 and the TracRac SR part # TH43002XT-501 is that the base rail of the TracRac rests slightly over the inside edge of the truck bed rails like you can see in attached picture which would interfere with your tonneau from opening. Bak does have their Revolver part # BAK62FR which does have a narrow enough cover that it would not interfere with the base rails. Or you could use your current tonneau with the Adarac...

  • Ladder Rack For Fiberglass Stepside Bed on 2004 GMC Sierra
I would recommend getting a ladder rack that sits on the bed rails of your truck so it's stonger and you can still use a tonneau cover. This takes a lot of strain off your fiberglass bed and leaves options open for other accessories. The Adarac Aluminum Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack # A79FR is a light ladder rack that's about 50 lbs but if you're concerned about your fiberglass bed just be careful when loading up heavier weights. It can handle 500 lbs but if you have some heavier...

  • Recommended Ladder Rack for 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 6.5' Bed with Tonneau Cover
In order to mount a ladder rack on a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 6.5' bed with tonneau cover you'll need to use one that mounts in the stake pockets. The best options we have for this are listed below. Adarac Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # A70530 Adarac Aluminum Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # A79FR Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # TH43002XT-501 I recommend the TracRac SR because of its adjustability but the others are great options as well.
