Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer and today, we're going to be talking about our AMPLock Coupler Lock. Now, this is going to be designed to fit your 2 5/16 couplers with a flat lip around them. Now, this is gonna be a great option for anyone who's looking to deter any theft because if anyone's coming over here and they wanted to take your trailer, they're looking for something quick and easy. This right here is not quick and easy. So if you have any type of investments, tools, anything that's going to be expensive or the trailer itself, you don't want that being taken, this is going to be a great investment for you. Now, let's talk about how it works.

So, we're going to have two keys that come with our kit. That core is going to be at the very bottom. You turn the key, that drops down. and you can pull it completely off. And here's that flat lip I was talking about.

So as long as you got that, it's going to be compatible. I would recommend checking out our specs to make sure you're going to have the proper width that's going to fit inside of here. Now, inside of it, you're going to notice we have this groove here. And when I go to lock it in place, I just have to push it up. And this goes in the center of where the ball typically sits.

Now, what you can do is take out that key now, lock it up, slide it on, and then press that cylinder. That cylinder automatically locks. That's something I like about this is some other types of locks, especially those ones, the smaller ones that go through the actual latch itself, those are kind of finicky when you are trying to lock it up. This one feels super smooth. And how it feels on here right now, like I was rattling earlier.

(lock rattling) It's going to rattle a little bit, but not very much at all. When it comes to any types of gaps, this is gonna be mostly covered all the way around and even underneath here. To give you a better look at what I'm talking about, I'll take it back off because we're going to have this plate that covers a majority of where the ball sits. Now, there are going to be smaller gaps, kinda like these corners here, but you're going to have to have a very fine tool to get into that groove. So, anything like a pry bar isn't going to happen. As for the construction, this is going to be made from cast iron. It's going to do a really good job at absorbing shock, too. So, if somebody came over here with a sledgehammer, they're trying to hit this, it's not going to get damaged. Really, it's not going to get them very far either. So, great at deterring anyone from taking your trailer. And underneath here, we're going to have a dual disc lock, and what that does is you're going to have to have the specific or special tools to even attempt to pick a lock like this. So, anyone just passing by probably are not going to have those tools on hand. So overall, I do think this is gonna be a solid choice, especially since it feels pretty sturdy and it also looks sturdy too. When it comes to other options we have though, one I would recommend is going to be a kit from etrailer. That's going to come with a lock, very similar to this design we have here. It's also going to come with a latch lock as well, a little bit of extra protection for you. And then, it'll come with a third lock that's going to be for the ball mount itself. So, all three points will be protected. But if you already have those locks, then I think this one's going to be a fine addition for you.
