Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this TowSmart Custom Fit Class III two inch trailer hitch receiver. Now this has been designed for your 2021 and newer Volkswagen ID 4, and on custom fit parts such as this hitch, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Just input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So this receiver is going to sit beneath your bumper for easy cargo access. With a 300 pound tongue weight, this hitch is going to be ready for your multi-bike rack or a fully loaded cargo carrier.
Whether you're hauling electric bikes or extra gear for a weekend trip, it's gonna handle that weight with ease. And then this does have a 3000 pound towing capacity that's going to make it ideal for hauling small travel trailers, utility trailers, or lightweight boat trailers, giving you the flexibility to take your adventure wherever you want. Now this is going to be a simple bolt-on process. This hitch is going to replace and upgrade the one that you currently have on your ID, and so you're just simply going to reuse that hardware that's holding your current one in place. So this does not include hardware.
It will reuse the hardware that's currently holding the one that you have on there now in place. The tube design is going to add durability while maintaining the clean look. Again, this is built to handle work and play. It's ready for whatever your ID needs to tow. And this has a kind of a glossy black finish powder coat finish.
It's gonna help resist rust and corrosion. You see, you've got your loops here for your safety chain. So all in all, I think this is going to hold up really well for you and it's going to, the powder coat finish is going to keep this looking great for years to come. Perfect fit on my ID.4. 10min install with existing hardware.
Easy to install on my 2023 ID4 pro S no need for adapter so everything is way more solid!!!

Bolted right on. this didn't come with any instructions but I had a quick chat with sales who quickly got me the torque spec for the mounting bolts (86 ft-lbs if you need to know)
With some effort I removed the 1.25" receiver that was standard equipment for our car. The 2" receiver fit perfectly. Now we're ready to haul e-bikes.
10 minute install. Great addition for bike rack vs the 1 1/4”. Etrailer is awesome. Always shop here first when I can.
Perfect fit for the stock 2026 ID4 hitch. Swapped out the 1 1/4” hitch receiver with this 2” in about 5 min.
