This Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver is built for light to moderate towing with a solid 3,500 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 350 lbs maximum tongue weight. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening works great for smaller trailers, bike racks, or cargo carriers. The black powder coat finish over an e-coat base keeps rust at bay and adds durability for long-term outdoor use. This item WON'T fit on ANY '23 models of the Niro-Drawtite is aware of the issue and is working on a re-design. There is an emissions canister that is mounted on the driver's side that prevents installation. '23 Niro EX Touring w/ conventional hybrid powertrain.

Installed on my 20222KIANitro, which was not supposed to have a trailer hitch as it was front wheel drive electric, but it fit perfectly as etrailer promised and worked very well.
Purchase was easy and hitch arrived within 3 days from order (paid for expedited at only $7 as regular shipping was free so justified the rapid delivery charge). eTrailer was excellent in helping to make sure I had the right hitch for my needs. Install took less than 2 hours for a novice and single person doing the job. Might have gone faster if I had an assistant. Purchased to mount a bicycle rack to my Niro and seemed to do a fantastic job the couple times I moaned the bike rack and hit the trails. Looking forward to many more positive experiences. Haven't bought the lights adapter to tow a trailer, but seems hitch should work well for light duty towing. Niro Hybrid wasn't designed or recommended for towing, so this hitch should work well as intended for bike carrier or rear hitch tray. Though install required cutting into the rear fascia, the hitch preserves the ground clearance of the car and I don't have any issues with bumper cover flapping or making any rattling.
This hitch is easy to install and works great, however despite other reviews it DOES NOT work on the EV version of the Niro. You can see from photos in other reviews of the EV install that there's a significant downward angle to the receiver. It might "work" for a ball hitch just fine, but if you have a easy load bike rack or basket, this means that it'll be angled out and down towards the rear, with crooked bikes and significantly lower ground clearance. There's also a YouTube video showing the install of this hitch on the EV and it also has an angle. Unless you are intending to modify the mounting points I would NOT recommend this for the EV (etrailer doesn't recommend it either). The receiver should be level to the road surface.
Installed on the Niro EV. It fit ok but needed to be partially installed, removed, modified and reinstalled to make the hitch parallel to the ground. Cutting the plastic shroud was far more extensive than indicated in either the attached paperwork or the videos available on line. It took me hours of fit up to get it to
work nicely. It appears that it will work as advertised.
Ordered this to take a stab putting it on the EV after doing some rough measurements compared to the Hybrid. Installs just like the hybrid without the need to notch the bumper. All that was needed was cutting off the center attach point for the under carriage panel. Still needs to have the rear bolt holes notched a tad to even the install, but all together very happy with the simplicity of the work and ability to add a bike rack with little effort.
