Specs:
The Hide-A-Goose gooseneck trailer hitch works to meet your heavy-duty towing needs while still allowing you to get full use out of your truck bed. It installs to existing, factory attachment points beneath your vehicle to create a low-profile look.
To remove the ball from this hitch, just lift and turn the lever that is built into the top of the ball. This will disengage the ball bearings in the shank so that you can easily lift the ball out of the hole.
Once you've removed the ball, use the magnetic cover to conceal the ball hole. This cover prevents dirt and debris from getting into the ball hole. This will prevent buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Hide-A-Goose underbed gooseneck trailer hitch with the custom installation kit. Has a 30,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1999 to 2016 Ford F 250, F 350, and the F 450 Super Duty trucks without the OEM prep package. This is a heavy duty underbed hitch.
This will let you tow your gooseneck trailer. All the installation kit right here in the head. You'll be underneath your truck bed. So when it's all installed, only this ball and the safety chain loops are visible in the truck bed. The rails, the hardware all mounted under a bed, so it allows for a nice full truck bed access when the ball is stored.
It does include this two and five 16 diameter ball and it can be stored upside down in the bed when it's not being used. And just to show you how to do that, you'll have this handle here, pull out and then twist it and it'll hold it in the unlock position. And then that'll release your ball. You can pick your ball up and if you flip it over, there's a little handle that you can hold onto and there's a slot on this side. You do wanna make sure that slot is on this side here.
And then you can just drop the ball in the stored position, release your handle, and you'll hear it. The pin goes across, locks it into place, and you're ready to go. And then actually it comes with this magnetic cover that's included. So when you're storing it, just put it over there, keep any dirt or grime from getting in there. Now the ball has a nice round shank.
Lemme ahead and take it out and show you. This round shank will reduce rattle in the hitch, the round sleeve and the ball then have a tighter fit than the square designs. Eliminates a lot of the noise. We mentioned the magnetic cover that goes over this and this lever here that opens and closes to release the ball. This kit is in your fender well. It gives you a nice convenient fender well access to this handle, to disconnect the trailer hitch ball. It has a nice durable handle, has a nice easy grip on it. So again, when you go to install it, make sure this slot is on this side here, drop it into place, twist the handle, releases, and you're locked, ready to go. We mentioned it includes the safety chain attachment points right here. That'll sit flush in the truck bed. When you need to hook your chains up, you just pull up on 'em, hook them there, and it'll hold it into place. The rail kit right here, this is a vehicle specific rail kit, installs quickly. There's no welding or bed removal required. And the head right here installs this head unit. Installs to the rails with just four 5/8 inch diameter grade A carriage bolts. Makes for an extra strong hold and quick install. Now installation tips, it will require a 3 1/2 inch diameter hole for the ball opening. And then four 5/8 inch diameter holes for these safety chain U bolts to come through. That is required in your truck bed. These parts have an e-coat base with a power coat finish on 'em for superior corrosion resistance. Specs again, we mentioned the gross towing weight capacity 30,000 pounds. Vertical load limit of 7,500 pounds. And again, the ball size 2 5/16 inches. Comes with all the hardware you need right here. Nice set of instructions. And again, the magnetic cover and the balls being stored. But that should do it for the review on the Hide-A-Goose underbed gooseneck trailer hitch with the custom installation kit.
