Taking your generator into higher elevations requires more than extra fuel. This carburetor kit includes altitude-specific jets that help compatible Onan P4500i generators operate more effectively in thinner mountain air.
Generator performance can change once you leave lower elevations behind and start climbing into mountain terrain. Thinner air affects the fuel-air mixture inside the engine, which can make a properly running generator feel less responsive. This high-altitude kit helps your compatible Onan generator operate more effectively between 2,000' and 7,000', supporting more reliable performance when your travels take you higher.
Not every campsite sits at the same elevation, which is why a single jet isn't always the best solution. This kit includes three carburetor jets designed for different altitude ranges, allowing you to select the appropriate option for where you're camping. Matching the jet to your elevation helps support proper engine operation as conditions change.
Finding compatible replacement parts is easier when they're built for a specific generator platform. This kit is designed for compatible Cummins Onan P4500i portable inverter generators equipped with the 224cc engine. Installation components are matched to the application, helping simplify the upgrade process.
Tracking down small replacement parts can quickly turn a simple project into a frustrating one. Along with four carburetor jets, this kit includes the seals needed for installation. Everything arrives together so you can focus on preparing your generator for higher-elevation use.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Cummins high altitude carburetor kit. Now this high altitude jet kit is designed specifically for your Cummins Onin P4500i 4500 watt portable inverter generators with the engine size of 224 CC. So this kit is going to help those generators run properly when you are camping or working at higher elevations. As you no doubt know, as altitude increases, the airs are going to become thinner so the engine needs a different fuel mixture to obtain that efficient performance.
So swapping to the correct jet is going to help prevent the engine from running too rich. That's going to help improve the performance and overall operation while you're up in the mountains. So this kit includes everything that you see here. You're going to get three replacement jets to match the common elevation ranges and I have them listed there for you on your screen. So this is jet A, and you probably can't see it, but I was going to try to show you that there is an A engraved there in that jet.
So jet A is going to work from 2,000 to 3,000 feet and then jet B I have in the middle and it does have a B engraved on it as well. That's going to be from 3,000 to 6,000 feet. And then Jet C 6,000 to 7,000 feet. And this also comes with the necessary seals for installation. So you're going to basically have everything that you need to make the conversion.
If you are using the generator below 2,000 feet, no changes are required. The factory installed jet's going to already be sized correctly for those lower elevations. Now if you think you might need some help with installation, take a look at this product page. Typically found underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install.
Well again, my name's Andy. Thanks for joining me.
