Today we're going to be taking a look at a panel locked right hand spring latch. Spring latches are reliable and primarily used on hinged doors and panels. This latch offers smooth, trouble free action, combined with easy access and secure closure. The unit's made from a steel construction and features a zinc coating to keep it protected from rust and corrosion. At the very end of the spring, and it's going to be super hard to see on video, but located right here at the end of the spring is what's called a C-ring. That C-ring acts as a positive stop retainer preventing over travel or snagging.

The C-ring also provides secure pin retention and eliminates jamming. The tempered spring is properly tensioned to provide smooth, positive pin release and return. A few measurements to go over with you real quick. You will notice that it has a hinge design on it. That hinged body's going to have two mount holes on it. The hinge body, itself, is going to give us a measurement of one and three eighths of an inch.

Going this direction, it's going to measure about seven eighths of an inch. The pin diameter on this unit, as you can see, is pretty small. That's point one, five, sixth inch, which is between one eighth and three sixteenths of an inch. The extension, that's how far the pin extends from the body that's a quarter of an inch. Overall length from end of pin to end of pin is about two inches.

Mount holes are separated on center by one inch and have a diameter of one eighth of an inch. Mounting hardware not included. That's going to do it for today's look at the panel lock right hand spring latch.
