Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Hopkins Plug In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness, with the four pull flat trailer connector. This product fits a 2008 to 2009 Ford Taurus X. To ensure that it is a fit for your vehicle, you can always use the vehicle fit guide at etrailer.com.It provides a four way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with five pull, six pull and seven pull adapters, adapters are sold separately. And it comes with a dust cap for the four way flat connector, that way you can always cover up the connection points when your plug's not being used. Now this is designed to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires.
Just locate the connection points in the rear cargo area, and plug in your connectors. One connector favors the drivers side of the vehicle, the other goes to the passenger side. And then these plugs are custom fit for the vehicle, so they're going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle and they snap lock together for a nice tight secure fit.Once you have those plugged in, you'll need to make a ground connection, that's your white wire with the ring terminal attached to it. You want to get that grounded to a suitable grounding location with the included grounding screw. And then you can use the zip ties to secure any excess or slack in the wiring.Once the install's complete, the four way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.
You can simply just pull it out when you need to use it and then roll it up and tuck it away when you don't. It is recommended that you use a small amount of the included terminal grease in all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four pull connector itself. That grease is designed to help prevent corrosion. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, you're looking at 7.5 amps per circuit, and for the tail lights, we're looking at 7.5 amps per circuit as well. That's going to do it for today's look at the Hopkins Plug In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four pull flat trailer connector.
I drive an old station wagon and needed trailer wiring. Etrailer provided a simple harness at a reasonable price point. Easy install as well. Thank you!
