aFe manufactures its air intake systems to optimize airflow and increase overall engine performance. The open design of Stage 2 systems allows more air into the engine compartment, thereby boosting horsepower and torque. An increase in airflow also leads to a deep, throaty sound. Stainless steel installation hardware is included. This system includes a restoration kit to help clean and reoil air filters.

A. Made from 16-gauge, powder coated steel, the heat shield is durable and easy to install. Its single-piece construction eliminates the need for cutting or drilling; it simply replaces the entire stock air box.

B. The three-angle adapter ring, located on the inside of the heat shield, bridges the connection between the air filter and the intake tube. Its conical shape helps to increase airflow velocity before air enters the intake tube.

C. The heat-insulating, molded plastic intake tube replaces the stock intake tube by screwing into the back of the heat shield, and its improved design decreases back pressure. OEM intake tubes contain pleats and breaks, which increase turbulence. All aFe intake tubes have raised stops that help to form strong connections and prevent slippage.
