Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Durabilt Ratcheting Chain Binder with the Clevis End Fittings, and a 13,000 pound working load limit. Now, this ratchet chain binder will let you secure your chain to an anchor point that can't open. So this is ideal for holding dumpster and compactor doors shut. Now, the ratchet binders are often viewed as a safer option, 'cause they do not store as much energy in the handle, so it reduces the risk of any recoil and harming the user. The ratcheting mechanism itself will tighten down and maintain tension on your chains, so it's easy to use and a safe alternative to the lever binders.
The handle right here is a nice sturdy handle, provides a nice solid grip to operate the ratchet. The handle length, from here to here, is about 15 1/2 inches. Now, I want to zoom in on some parts here, to show you. The adjustable pawl rod here, that's on the handle, has two positions for a nice, quick take up or extension. The take up position, like it is now, will tension your chains to secure the cargo, and then if you push down on that pawl, that extension position allows you to safely release the tension and remove the binder.
(ratchet clicking) Now the clevis ends, right here, you can see, they are zinc-plated forged steel clevis ends. These will connect to your anchor points, also allows attachment of your chains or hooks for a custom setup. These clevis end fittings will extend. These both unscrew so they can extend out to provide extra reach when you're hooking your binder to your equipment. Now, the distance between the fittings, so in other words, if we have 'em fully closed, like they are now, there's gonna be about 17 inches.
If we extend these out, just by turning this, you can see, you can extend it out further. Just like that, and the same on this side. To fully extend them out, it'll get you an extended measurement of 25 inches. So, basically, the take up length is about 8 inches. Now, the barrel length, this is the barrel portion right here, is 10 inches.
The screw size is 1 inch diameter, and the eye diameter, which is this part right here, is 1 3/16 inches. Now, if you also notice, turn this around, (ratchet clicks) show you right here, there's two grease zerk fittings on the barrel, and that's for hooking a grease gun to and lubricating these, both fittings. This is a forged powder-coated metal construction, resists corrosion. As you can see, it has a nice red color to it, makes it highly visible. This will meet or exceed the DOT, Department of Transportation, standards. And, as we've mentioned, the safe working load limit on this is 13,000 pounds. Now, one thing I do wanna mention is always remember, if you do ever have any questions regarding this product, please don't hesitate to contact us via the phone, chat or email. Or if you have purchased this product before, please send us pics of this in use. But that's gonna do it for a look at the Durabilt Ratcheting Chain Binder with the Clevis End Fittings.
