When loose gear turns your cargo area into a jumble, this deck creates two levels of storage. Organize supplies in 4 removable boxes (sold separately) below and secure larger cargo on the bamboo deck above.
Tools, cooking supplies, dry goods, and recovery equipment can quickly turn a cargo area into one large pile. This frame holds 4 Wolf Pack Pro boxes (FR44RV - sold separately), letting you separate gear by purpose and remove boxes when you need them. Please note the system does not fit Wolf Pack Pro boxes equipped with Hi-Lids.
Your storage boxes remain accessible beneath the frame while the bamboo deck provides a flat surface for luggage, coolers, or other bulky cargo. Integrated T-slot channels provide mounting locations for compatible tie-down points and accessories, helping you keep items above the deck from shifting (FR39ZV - sold separately). The surface also accepts a compatible Front Runner fridge slide (FR47JJ or FR64JJ - sold separately) and can support up to 176 lbs of dispersed weight.
Loose storage boxes can bounce and rattle as the road gets rough. Springs incorporated throughout the system hold the boxes within the frame, reducing movement, vibration, and noise. Supplied C-hooks and turnbuckles attach the system to existing vehicle mounting points, helping keep it in place without making it a permanent installation. Check the complete dimensions to confirm it will fit your cargo area or covered truck bed.

Hello, neighbors. This is Curt with etrailer, and today we're going to take a look at the Front Runner Storage Deck. This is a cargo system designed to carry four Wolf Pack Pro storage boxes. It's going to keep them nice and organized for you, but not only that, it's going to keep them stationary, so it's going to keep your cargo safe. So the Wolf Pack Pro storage boxes have been a really, really popular item from Front Runner for quite some time. These boxes are stackable.
They're fantastic for holding any kind of the camping gear that you might have. They also work really well for work gear. So for camping gear, you know, your tools, propane, power bank. Tool-wise, you could have different tie down straps in here, different ball mounts, just really anything that you could throw into these storage boxes. And the storage deck is going to be made.
It's going to have these heavy steel springs in here. And what those are going to do is do a really good job of keeping these boxes in place and immobile. So as far as how these are going to line in, you'll have one going in long ways and then the one next to it going in sideways. Toward the back, we've got it the opposite, long ways and sideways, and that's going to help it fit into this symmetrical space. Now, the top deck is made out of a bamboo.
It's very, very durable. It has a weight capacity of 176 pounds. But if you're going to use it for any kind of cargo, I'd suggest picking up something like an extra cargo net. Those I think work best on something like this. You can use the same tie downs as you did with this in order to keep that secure.
And depending on the vehicle that you have, you may have to use shims in order to get rid of a lot of that slope. The storage deck is going to come with these tie down turnbuckles here. That's what we'll use to get things tightened up when we need to get them strapped in. Now, the downside is that more often than not, we have found that these tie downs come up short to reach your anchors down here. We've had to supplement straps almost every single time. So if you are going to supplement something in a cargo strap, one, I think a smaller strap would help, especially with the size of the hook that you have on that turnbuckle. Two, you want to keep them as short as you possibly can. And three, you also want to make sure you're not using something stretchy, like a bungee cord or something like that. The whole point of this system is to keep the deck immobile and not shifting anywhere at all. And if you use something stretchy like that, it's going to kind of defeat the purpose. When you do use tie-down straps, you want to keep this, like I said, as short as you can. You want to make sure that the load capacity is going to be enough for however much cargo you have in here. And you also want the turnbuckle to be doing the majority of the work. Now, these turnbuckles are located on all four corners, and ideally you want to set them up in a way so that they're angled out against each other. They're basically pulling against each other, making it immobile. Now every vehicle is going to have different tie down locations. So you might have to actually just kind of, you know, work with what you've got. But the main thing is, is you want them pulling away from the edges of the storage deck. Now, the major frame of it is a powder coated steel construction, so very durable, very corrosion resistant. A lot of the inner parts are going to be made of aluminum, and that's going to help it lighten up just a bit. This isn't meant to necessarily be permanent. It's very easy to take out and put back in. With the boxes removed, the storage deck weighs just under 80 pounds. It's a little bit awkward to maneuver on your own, but it can be done. But all you need to do is loosen up all four of your turnbuckles and you're able to take this in and out very easily. Now, when it comes to the assembly, it took quite a bit of time to get this assembled. So if you've got a trip planned, I wouldn't wait until the day before you leave to put this together. I would give it a couple of days just in case. But assembly was a bit a bit difficult to follow. We we inchesre able to get through it though without any issue. It just takes some time. Now, when it comes to determining how it's going to fit in the back of your vehicle, this is the symmetrical version. So it is 39 and a quarter by 39 and a quarter, and it's 12 and a quarter inches tall. Your tie-downs are going to be located on the outside here. They are adjustable and they can be slid all the way to the edge. But if you want to kind of determine if you're going to need longer tie-downs or if you're going to need some supplemental tie-downs, what you can do is actually take one of the turnbuckles. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the inside of the eyelid to the inside of the hook. This, when it's tight, should be as long as you want as you want to get it. And it's going to come out to about just under eight and a half inches. So if you've got more than eight and a half inches from the tie down to where it's going to connect to the storage stack, you're going to want to go ahead and pick up some straps to go with it. Now we've been looking at the symmetrical version. There is an elongated version out there as well. It's really more popular in truck beds. But if you've got the dimensions to put it in the back of your SUV, you're more than welcome to do it. It's available here at etrailer and the dimensions for that one are on the webpage. But the downside to going with the elongated one in a vehicle like this, because we had to fold down our second row of seating to get this to fit into our cargo space, it's kind of raised up in the back back there a bit more than the front, which is why we had to add these shims to level it out to a reasonable level. If you get the elongated version in a vehicle like this, you could still do it. It just means you're probably going to have to shim it up even higher because it goes deeper into that folded seat. So I think this is a really fantastic way to organize any of your camping gear or even any of your work gear. In fact, we have had a neighbor who used this in a way that he had six Wolf Pack boxes. He had two boxes with things in it that he always keeps in his car, like his tire inflator, a battery charger, all kinds of things like that. Then he's also got two boxes that he keeps his work tools in and another two boxes that he keeps his camping gear in. So when the weekend comes along and he wants to take this out to his camper or anything like that, all he has to do is remove the two boxes with his work tools, plug in the two boxes for his camping trip, and he's on the road. So I think this is a great way to keep all of that cargo safe and secure. Once again, this is Curt with etrailer. Thanks for stopping by.
