Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier - Roof Mount
Overall I am happy with these bike carriers. They mount to the racks over the bed of my Tundra TRD Pro. Installation is simple. I think they could be just a bit sturdier because there is just a bit of wobbling when driving on bumpy roads but I'm not too worried about them coming dislodged. Take note that although they come with a cable lock to attach the bike to the carrier, the key is sold separately.
Very good product. It holds the bike securely on the roof without contacting the frame. It is easy to adjust from my road bike to my 29er mountain bike. Our drives are all relatively short, so I like that I do not need to remove the front wheel to lock in the bike. It's also nice that the SKS locking system allows me to use the same key for this rack that I use for my Yakima roof box and hitch rack. This is my first roof rack and I chose this route for a couple reasons. Some of the roads we travel to get to our trail heads are a bit rough and with a roof rack I don't have to worry about bottoming out a hitch rack hanging off the back of the vehicle. Also, it takes up less room in the garage. Our vehicle is a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with an additional 4 inches of ground clearance. That makes it a bit of a reach for my 5'4" wife, so we take our two-step along to help her. This is my third time purchasing from etrailer, and each experience has been very good. They are a very customer service oriented company. I really appreciate all the additional information they provide on their products, especially all the videos they produce to aid in reviews, assembly, and use.

Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Carrier - Fork Mount
Goes together quickly, appears that it will fit my needs in terms of being cross-compatible on a variety of vehicles. Fit on a Subaru Outback factory crossbar and transported bike locally with no issues when I got it out to set up and test (not quite warm enough to ride much yet where I live). Instructions are not super, but the assembly is pretty straightforward so that is not a problem. At the price point, if this rack indeed holds up to swapping onto multiple vehicles and lasts me a few years, I'll be thrilled with the purchase.
I like the fork-mount design in general for roof mounted bike carriers, and this product gets the job done. (We have 3 attached to the SportRack SR1002, and this seems to work well for us.) However, the assembly instructions were not well written or well illustrated. For example, there is a short carriage bolt that one basically has to guess about where to install, and also you may have to insert some of the bolts backwards from the instructions so that they don't interfere with quick release that clamps onto the fork.

Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Carrier - Fork Mount
Great product, super easy to install, and sturdy. IF YOU ARE USING THIS FOR A MOUNTAIN BIKE, they tend to have wider hubs and/or thicker axles that WILL NOT WORK with the skewer and sleeve provided. You have to buy a rhino rack thru axle adapter which is an additional $XXX/per and a different size thru axle sleeve which is $XX/per. I just wish it came with a more universal fork hookup from the start or a cheaper option to change sizes.
Love this bike rack! It fits perfectly with my Rhino Rack Cross Bars. I'm very impressed by the lack of wind noise. With the bike mounted on the rack, you can barely hear the wind noise at 60mph. With the sunroof open you can hear wind noise, but as long as the window is closed, you can only slightly hear anything if the radio is off and you are trying to hear it. Amazing! Can't wait to get more use out of it in the future!

RockyMounts BrassKnuckles Roof Mounted Bike Rack - Wheel Mount - Black
l Low profile, holds the bikes in place and very easy to put the bikes on the rack. Also, very east install.
I own two. I took one off and lost one of the metal pins that attaches to the mounting strap and can't seem to find them for sale anywhere. Great rack and would give it 5 stars but the arm is sometimes very stiff and hard to move.

RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Subaru Impreza
Today on our 2013 Subaru Impreza, we are going to do a test fit on the Rocky Mounts PitchFork. This is a roof-mounted, fork-clamp style, bike rack. Part Number on it is RKY1014.Now as you can see we have already got the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System installed, so we will just place our rack up here on the vehicle. We will remove the black cover located at the front and separate the two metal, rubber-coated, straps from the head. We will bring them around the under-side of our bar, center the head of the carrier onto the bar, and then we are going to fit these right back in. With those in the appropriate position we can now take our wrench and just start tightening that on down.
Thule Sprint Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Subaru Impreza
Today on our 2013 Subaru Impreza were going to do a test fit on the Thule Sprint. This is a roof mounted fork clamp style bike rack. The part number on it is TH528. Now we already have our Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack system installed on our vehicle, so well begin our test fit by placing the rack right up onto the roof line of the vehicle. As you can see, we've got a black rubber coated metal strap. On the bottom of each of our clamps we want to be sure that those come around the lower side. We've got our front positioned where we want.
Thule Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Subaru Impreza
Today on our 2013 Subaru Impreza, we're going to do a test fit on the Thule Paceline. This is a roof-mounted fork clamp-style bike rack. The part number on it is TH527. As you can see, we're already got our Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack system installed on the vehicle. We're going to begin our test fit just by placing the rack right up onto the roofline. We've got two levers that we want to lift, the front and rear. It's going to allow us once it's done, to separate the lower portion of our clamp from the upper. We'll then slide it rearward.
Rhino Rack MountainTrail Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Subaru Impreza
Today on our 2013 Subaru Impreza, we're going to do a test fit on the Rhino Rack Mountain Trail. This is a roof mounted fork clamp style bike rack. The part number on it is RBC035. As you can see we've got our Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack system already installed on the Subaru. We'll begin our test fit by placing the rack onto the load bars, as we do this we want to hold down on the two black rubber coated metal straps allowing them to come around the underside, around to the front side of the bar here. We'll then lift up on the black cap, bring that off, bring our straps around, fit them into the indentations located here on the front side and then we're going to tighten down the single bolt located here in the middle. Great thing about this bolt is that it's going to tighten down both of our straps at the same time. So we've only got one thing to do here at the front to get the rack secured.
Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2012 Subaru Impreza
Today on our 2012 Subaru Impreza, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Forklift Roof Top Bike Rack, part number Y02098. Now to begin our test fit, we'll simply place the bike rack on top of our crossbars; we'll bring the head of the bike rack around the front crossbar, and clamp it using the wing nut on the back of the head. We'll then move to the rear crossbar, where we'll put the clamp around it and secure it also using the wing nut. With both clamps tight, we'll slide the wing nut's top into position and put our skewer in. With our skewer loose, we'll make sure that our rear wheel strap is undone and out of the way, where we can then place the bike into the bike rack. We'll bring the fork into the skewer and clamp it down.
