I purchased and I installed the Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit HSE7K-T1 along with the Prodigy P3 brake controller on my 42'fifth wheel. As the saying goes "why did I wait so long" , I have been running them for a few months now, I wanted to get some miles and testing on the system before I commented so after several roads trips now about 4000 miles I am very pleased. They have worked flawlessly. I have always been on edge when towing, especially in the mountains with the old electric drum brakes. Now I have so much more confidence in stopping and that lifted so much stress off me. The old electric drum brakes just never felt as if they would stop the trailer especially in an emergency stop, but now if you apply the brakes hard you can feel the trailer stopping the truck. I have never been able to lock up the tires on the camper till now. If you have a little mechanical knowledge the installation is not difficult as long as you plan things out and be patient. I did have a few hiccups with shipping and a few parts but thanks to Robert all issues were addressed and corrected ASAP and parts were shipped out to me immediately. A special shout out to Robert which answered so many of my questions and helped me with ordering everything I needed to install my kit. etrailer has always been a pleasure to work with. I will never have an RV without Disc Brakes again. Thanks again to Robert and etrailer.

Switch to disc brakes, the difference is amazing, the installation is pretty straight forward, I don't like the copper tubing would use flexible line next time. It took a diode (I think) from manufacturer to work with my 2024 GM built in brake controller.

Installed these brakes on my 5th Wheel in the summer of 2023. Completed the installation in two easy days with 2 other old men. Takes a little creativity placing hydraulic lines and the pump. Love this conversion. Never go back to drum brakes. Had to go from 10 gain on the drum brakes to 3 gain on the disk brakes. Driving through heavy traffic is so much less stressful knowing I have 10 wheels with disk brakes (6 on the RV and 4 on the truck). Stopping distance is reduced enormously. No problems with any component in the packaged as of 07/2024.

Hello we have a triaxle 45' Toater trailer combination we use for racing. Total rolling loaded weight is 46k. The trailer was equipped from factory with electro magnetic brakes that in combination with the air brakes on the truck using digital controller was very ineffective ! WE installed these and it now stops like your car ... VERY VERY good solution ! we had one clearance problem with the top caliper bolt and the inner finder that was easily modified for clearance. This solution is a effective easy to install and it improved my trailer stopping power 100% ... also you will need a double flair tool for a clean instillation

I ordered this kit so to have spare parts for the Titan disc brake kit which I installed from my previous order. From past experience I discovered it is always good to have these parts available and on hand for when a wheel bearing destroys itself on a Sunday morning 500 miles from nowhere and a person should be prepared with the knowledge how to do this work on the shoulder of the road by ones self! So much for roadside service it just doesn’t work for all locations as those insurance company’s advertise. In short even with the best of quality parts(which I am happy to say etrailer has always supplied me with) there will be failures which can put a big hole in vacation budget! This kit was just as advertised and includes everything to replace one complete hub assembly ,bearings ,disc brake and rotor (just what you would need for that roadside repair). Also many thanks to the folks at etrailer for delveloping such a good Hydraulic disc brake kit to replace the horrible electric brakes that came with our trailer. They never really worked well no Mather what special adjustments or service that was performed on them! The trailer manufacturers should be ashamed for ever using them in the first place and for safety’s sake electric brakes should be outlawed!

Brakes were great for almost a year, then one of the pistons started sticking causing me to have to do an emergency repair on the side of the road. Luckily I caught it soon enough that I think the hubs and rotor are ok. Brakes have been used 95% in freshwater with only one trip to Florida where they were immediately heavily rinsed with fresh water.
