The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

Exactly what I needed. All my previous SUVs used 2x2 hitch mounts which now are useless.So I decided to gift them to my son. The hitch mount is well made. etrailer is fast and very easy to find exactly what you need at a fair price. Customer service is friendly and helpful.

Everything arrived on time and well packaged. I installed a Curt hitch receiver to go with this ball mount. Installation for the hitch went exactly as described and was fairly simple for even a novice like me. Very pleased with etrailer.com and with Curt brand products in general. Couldn't be happier with the process from beginning to end. And the hitch looks and works great!

I would have given you guys 5 stars if it were not for the way the items were packaged. The ball mount and break controller were loose in a medium sized box with out any packing in between. The box for the break controller was smashed. I don't see any visual damage on the break controller its self but, I also haven't wired it in. It would be a good idea to separate these items with some kind of packing materiel so they don't slam around in the box. Other than that the products arrived as advertised.

It is heavy duty and well-built. I am not disappointed at all and I get comments everyone smile from people who are used to traveling overseas asking where I got the European style hitch from. The only downside is the lack of interchangeability in the size of the ball itself but I don’t think that’s a big deal because I set it up for what I need it for and keep a vehicle vehicle for longer periods of time.

Solid, heavy as heck. Bought this model because 1) I only have 1 lightweight trailer (Malone xtralight, also purchased from etrailer at the same time) and it’s light weight. 2) I am stuffing this into an adaptor also bought from etrailer to further stuff into a receiver also purchased from etrailer. 3) All this is on the back of my 2018 Subaru Outback. Beings that it’s a Subaru it’s not going to be used to drag a huge or heavy trailer. I’ll repeat this part in my review of the adapter, buy probably from etrailer, a receiver lock that is sleeved, to be both 1/22 and 5/8 and long. That way if you don’t want this sticking way out the back (shin killer) you can use 1 lock and go all the way through receiver/ adapter/ and this ball mount. Otherwise buy you’ll need 2 locks 1 for receiver to adapter 5/8 and a second 1/22 to go through adapter into this unit. A side benefit is it’s just different. It’s not an everyday boring looking ball mount, it’s heavy duty so why not.

My Mini Cooper is lowered and this unit really helped level out the trailer I am pulling. The product is heavy and solid. I would definitely recommend this item

Heavy duty! I was a little bummed when I found out how much more difficult it was to find a half inch pin for this, but no matter. It is a tad loose inside the hitch, so there's a little rattle, but I doubt it's as noticable as I make it seem. Super classy and a welcome change from the typical draw bar style. Love this hitch. It looks and fits my Optima perfectly. I was really pleased to find a modern looking hitch to fit on my car. Very strong, solid construction. I don't plan to pull a large trailer with my car but this will work perfectly for my utility trailer. Very friendly and helpful customer service and it was delivered faster than I hoped for. Perfect for my Honda Fit as it has a low carriage, the Euro shape gave me a few extra inches to tow a small trailer across the country from Oregon to North Carolina with no issues.

I haul a 5.5x10 open trailer w/ a 900 lb. ZTR, a push mower, and a handful of other tools 3 days a week. It is what it is. It does the job, no problem. A little finish wear and rust on the ball, but nothing major. I LIVE ON A DIRT ROAD, which is probably responsible for the wear.

Great purchase experience. eTrailer has this convenient package of ball and hitch already torqued together, AND includes a locking pin in addition to the normal cotter pin! Website is clear on details of package, contents, and dimensions of each component. Shipping was fast and packaged well.
