It arrived in perfect condition and was exactly what I’d hoped for… except: I had expected it to include a retaining pin and clevis pin. Fortunately I had those missing pieces from a previous purchase.

by:

Love this hitch. It looks and fits my Optima perfectly. I was really pleased to find a modern looking hitch to fit on my car. Very strong, solid construction. I don't plan to pull a large trailer with my car but this will work perfectly for my utility trailer. Very friendly and helpful customer service and it was delivered faster than I hoped for. Extremely pleased. Thanks...

by:

This is a great trailer hitch ball. I like the way it projects out from the car and sits up a bit. It is easy to attach and remove (I don't leave it on the car all the time, just when pulling a trailer).

by:

It's easy to use , to put on and off.

by:

I dig the sleekness of the euro style ball mount. Works great.

by:

The Euro style ball really isn’t a good fit for European bike rack. Very loose so the rack sways as you travel down the autobahns,

Comments
While hitch accessories like ball mounts are designed to be snug inside the receiver sometimes they can be a little loose. It could be that the ball mount specs are a little small or that the hitch receiver opening is a little bigger. We recommending using an anti-rattle device such as part # RM-061-125
Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitches
$39.96
to help minimize movement of the ball mount.

This trailer drawbar with the ball was just the right height and extension for the trailer. I am glad I got the one piece drawbar it is easy to store in the compartment with the spare tire. It is very tight when you first get it so you will need to tap it in out a few times with some spray lube to loosen it up. After that, it goes in and out by hand easily. It does come with the pin.

Comments
After a year of using the trailer drawbar wball on several trips, including a 2,600 mile trip, it is working great. Have not had any issues with it. I dont leave it in when not using it so it still slides in and out easily.

WHEN I ORIGINALLY INSTALLED MY HITCH ON MY CX3 AWD I HAD THIS EUROPEAN BALL. I KEPT IT WHERE MY SPARE TIRE RESIDES. I TOOK MY CX3 IN FOR MY FIRST SERVICE AT MAZDA. THE SERVICE INCLUDED WHEEL ROTATION. I HAD THE WHEEL LOCK KEY IN MY SPARE TIRE AREA. IT'S BEEN ABOUT A MONTH, AND MY NEED TO USE MY TRAILER AROSE AND TO MY SURPRISE THE BALL WAS GONE. I RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE TO REMOVE YOUR BALL WHEN GETTING SERVICE. IT IS UNIQUE IN IT'S DESIGN WHICH I GUESS MAKES IT DESIREABLE TO THIEVES. THIS BALL IS A REPLACEMENT AND WORKS GREAT AS DID THE OTHER ONE. I AM GOING TO WRITE THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS AND WHILE I AM NOT ACCUSING THEM DIRECTLY, I AM MAKING THEM AWARE OF THE SITUATION. THIS IS TO PROTECT OTHER FOLKS WHO MAY EXPERIENCE MISSING ITEMS. I FEEL THAT IF I DO NOT INFORM THEM OF THIS, THEN I AM PART OF THE PROBLEM.

by:

I ordered both a Curtis trailer hitch and a Curtis drawbar from etrailer. The hitch I had shipped directly to my mechanic who reported that the fit was perfect and the installation very straight forward. The drawbar was shipped to my house promptly and although I haven't used it yet I forsee no problems.

by:

Have I actually used the hitch and draw bar much in the past year? Not really, but when I do, I have complete confidence in the hardware and the wiring supplied by etrailer.com.

by:

beautiful shape ;)

by:

Outstanding product and I couldn't be happier with the trailer hitch assembly! It installed exactly as advertised and at 60 years old I found it easy!

by:

This review is really on the outstanding customer service provided by etrailer.com. This is he first time I have ordered from them and was very impressed. I ordered a hitch for my car. Placed the order Saturday night and by Tuesday it was delivered.

by:

Order was shipped promptly and correct. Products were exactly as described. I will use etrailer again in the future.

by:

Nice product, would rather use this compared to a traditional ball mount and ball. Looks sleek, has more clearance, uses a solid shank, and I'm less likely to hit a shin, because I wrapped the shaft in foam pad.

by:

great fit just what I needed good solid hitch thank you for shipping to APO address

by:

Great product, just what i needed for my Subaru Outback , the 4-5/8" rise was just right to level my trailer. Thank you ! E trailer, Good doing business with you !

by:

Product is very sturdy, and exactly as advertised. Worked with the trailer receiver I purchased on etrailer. No issues.

by:

Works just fine. No problems. Almost perfect height when attaching a small 5X8 trailer to an Mazda MPV.

by:

Ball size is 1 7/8 and works well. Did not come with pin. No Complaints. Perfect high for my ford fiesta.

by:

Good quality products, great instructions and details on how to use/install them and everything worked exactly as it should have.

by:

Have not installed as of yet but etrailer.com was fast on delivery even in difficult times, I will shop here again.

by:

Worked well, raised trailer tongue just right

by:

Great hitch made of solid steel. Perfect height for a VW Jetta,

by:

Did not work for my application but is great quality

  • Euro Style Ball Mount Recommendation for 2013 Ford Focus with 1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball
With Class I hitches like what your 2013 Ford Focus would have you have to stick with the ball mount that the manufacturer recommends for it. For a 1-7/8 inch Euro style ball mount you'd need the # C45571 as that is the correct size. This has 2-5/8 inches of rise.

  • Picking Out Correct Ball Mount for Towing Trailer with 2016 Mazda CX5
I attached an FAQ that details how to pick out the correct ball mount. Picking out the correct ball mount will allow your trailer to sit as level as possible. Basically you will first measure the height from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the hitch while on level ground. Next, you will measure the coupler height from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when the trailer is on level ground. Next, you will need to compute the difference. If the hitch height is...

  • Can Curt Euro Style Ball Mounts be Used in a Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch on a 2016 Honda HR-V
Curt used to put a stop in the shank behind the hitch pin hole to prevent the use of Class II accessories (which the Curt Euro ball mounts are). Curt hitch # C11416 for your 2016 HR-V does not have that stop but double check your hitch to make sure it isn't present. If not then you can use a Curt Euro ball mount! For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # C45571. For a 2 inch ball use # C45572.

With Class I hitches like what is available for your 2008 BMW 335xi, part # C11033 you have to go with the recommended ball mount otherwise the warranty of the hitch is no longer valid. So you have to use the part # C45521 which is what Curt recommends. It has a 2-5/8 inch drop and 3-1/4 inch rise.

  • Recommended Ball Mount for Trailer That Is Further From My Vehilce
Good news, I can help. What you will want to do is get a different ball mount. It also has a 1-7/8" ball. I recommend getting the 9-1/4" long # C45520 ball mount and 1-7/8" # C40001 ball. But if the new exhaust has the exact same dimensions as the stock exhaust and installs in exactly the same way then the hitch would fit. If you plan on doing any towing with the hitch then you can use 1-7/8 inch ball mount # C45571 or 2 inch ball mount # C45572. And for wiring you would need # 56014 .
