To be honest, I use it upside down. I needed a hitch with rise, but none were available at time of purchase, and yours, inverted, works perfectly! The welds are regularly checked and remain all secure. It's a good hitch.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

The Extra Long Ball Mount proved useful immediately upon receipt. Delivery was prompt, and the updates from etrailer.com helped plan transport of several bicycles, simultaneously with a camper trailer. The extended length facilitated use with a Swagman bicycle rack, also purchased via etrailer.com. I purchased Curt's 6" drop ball mount for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport which is not lifted but has 32" tall tires. The utility trailer I plan to purchase recommends a 12" tongue/ball height for level towing. The Curt 6" drop ball mount places my tongue/ball height at 13.5" which is acceptable. The bottom of my tow ball mounting nut is now 12" above the road surface. Plenty of clearance for safe towing. I'm very pleased with the quality and functionality of my Curt ball mount. I'm looking forward to purchasing a utility trailer soon. I think it will tow very nicely using my Curt 6" drop ball hitch.

Used on my 1999 Dodge Intrepid's CURT 12006 Class II 1.25 in. Receiver Hitch: 350lbsTW/3500 lbs GTW. I use this Curt Class II Drawbar - 3-7/8" Rise - 11-1/4" Long - 3,500 lbs to tow a 3,500+ GTW dual axle trailer. I have used it with the trailer FULLY loaded and it performs EXCELLENT. You have to make sure the trailer is loaded correctly so as not to put too much down force on the tongue/drawbar. I was skeptical that the SOLID 1.25" bar would not take the load, but it is super strong. I chuck it in the trunk when not in use to protect passerby's shins, but it sticks out far enough clear the Intrepid's bumper, and is solid with a 2" ball (required a bushing). etrailer got it out fast at a good price! I would totally purchase this again from them.

Great purchase experience. eTrailer has this convenient package of ball and hitch already torqued together, AND includes a locking pin in addition to the normal cotter pin! I needed an extended ball mount for my new Jeep in order for my utility trailer tongue to clear the rear mounted spare tire. Item is as described on the web site and was received earlier than expected. etrailer has great customer service and is my number one go to place for towing and trailer supplies.

Overall, I have to say that I am satisfied although not particularily impressed. The finish on the ball mount is mediocre ... there are several spots where the paint is chipped off for instance. It was received today and installed today with no use yet the pictures show the areas in question. You can tell by the label installation that someone who really didn't care rushed the operation. It also fit considerably looser than the Reese bar that I removed. I had to apply several turns of duct tape around the tube to make it as snug as the original. As I said, it'll do fine, just not impressed.

Perfectly as described, Box was a heavy hitch and the box must have been damaged in shipping so it was a little delayed. You can't mess up a forged hitch it still is in excellent condition.

I bought this to use it for the 3 inch rise it provided. I have a lowered truck and towing my car carrier would prove to be difficult at times. The 3 inch raised that this provided made the trailer stay in a more manageable position. The heavy solid metal construction is of extremely high-quality. I would not have any hesitation towing something at the rated 16,000 pound capacity.

I needed the dropped ball for my motorhome to tow my Jeep. More importantly I needed the long shaft into the receiver for a device that bolted onto the shaft. This hitch worked perfectly in all regards. High quality and fits perfectly.

Product was shipped well packaged in a box to avoid damage. Perfect height and length for my F150 front receiver. This should make moving my trailer in tight spaces easier.
