Best 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

I purchased the etrailer.com 2-3/4 " Rise or 4" Drop Ball Mount Kit, Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver and Twist-in 7-Pole RV-Style Trailer Connector for my 2011 Chevy Silverado. Quick Delivery! All the necessary parts arrived in perfect condition. Directions were spot on and the instructional videos were great.

WOW! What can I say? Easiest install ever! I called ahead of time and spoke with Katie about what I needed. She confirmed what I wanted would work with my van. I'm in the shipping business. The bar arrived in mint condition in a double wall box with the accessories boxed separately. After removing the hardware, reading the instructions and watching their video online, I went to work. The whole thing took less than 20 mins and I did not have to remove the exhaust. I actually used it to help hold the bar up. It took longer to remove the mud guard and rear body molding than to install. It is heavy, weighing in at about 65lbs but I did not even have to use a jack on the van. I'm very happy with my purchase and can now put bikes on the back of the van rather than in the van. I can tow our Cub Scout trailer and hall my sons football teams gear with the optional rear carrying racks. I also love the fact that the bar hides about 6" behind the bumper preventing injuries to the shins. The price was cheap and the install a breeze.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

The product is good but a bit tideous and after installing it my bracket fell and it was a pain to get replace it support made me buy the replacement pieces and the bracket didnt come with just the bolts, and at the end they told i have i had to buy the whole unit because based on their system my truck didnt have issues with installement and the manufacturer didnt supply that bracket cause it special order so in general i dont recommend in my choice better to get it welded.

Wonderful product. I had the hitch installed in 10 minutes. The wiring was a little more tricky because it required running a power wire all the way to the battery. I towed my trailer from Florida to Tennessee and back. Etrailer is still wonderful to deal with as they always have been in the past. My hitch came in a couple of days. I wouldn't think of ordering from any one else.

The welding splatter found its way to the hitch pin hole and it took me some time with a Dremel to clean it out so the hitch pin would slide in.

Each edge of the hitch receiver shipping carton was pierced by mounting brackets, but no damage fortunately. Consider adding another layer of cardboard padding?

Fantastic product, Works great for the 2001 Oldsmobile Siloute Mini Van that I recently purchased. I had a class II hitch already installed by previous owner and I was not sure if it was a class I or class II and etrailer explained that a class I will have a restriction inside of the 1 1/4 inch square opening that prevents a class II from being inserted. That was helpful to get the correct hitch ordered. After that advice I could tell this is the one that would match what I had.Thanks etrailer! FAST SHIP ALSO.

Overly tight on the receiver end bit functions as intended.

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. I needed to tow a trailer with a 2" ball. My original ball mount has a 1 7/8" ball installed. I had previously tried to change a ball on a hitch and destroyed the nut and damaged the underside of the ball mount. The lock washer had done a great job in keeping the nut from coming off. I dreaded trying to remove my 1 7/8" ball to install a new one that I would only use once. I decided to buy a new ball mount and mount the new 2" ball. This ball mount is so inexpensive that I realized I could have both ball sizes permanently mounted for use in either ball size.

I wasn't sure what type of ball mount I needed for my new Mazda CX-9, so I had to call a representative. The first time I called, the very knowledgeable gentlemen told me exactly how to measure my SUV to figure out the drop I needed. I called back the next day and talked to a lady who helped me figure out exactly what I needed. This is my second purchase from etrailer. The first was a hitch for my old Honda Odyssey, which was also a great experience. The employees are so helpful, the video tutorials on the web site are fantastic and the prices are great. etrailer.com is the first place I go to look for trailer and towing supplies!

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

Easy to use and haven't had any trouble towing my small trailer with motorcycle on board. Def recommend.

This part came with the trailer hitch I purchased. It was very easy to transfer the ball from my 2" hitch and voila I am now ready to haul my trailer.

Purchased this hitch as a companion for our Reese anti sway control. The small ball for the Reese sway control fits in the bracket and the 2” drop on the hitch is exactly what we needed to have our Jayco camper level when towing.

I cannot use this ball mount because the shaft is too short that goes into hitch receiver on my one ton Dodge truck. It does not allow enough room between truck back bumper and ball to allow any trailer tongue to be put on ball.

When asked, good advice was given and the product is proving to be of top quality.
