On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

The Towmaster product is very well designed and fits like a factory piece. Installation was a snap, instructions were spot on. I’m very happy with it.

Fast delivery, good communication!

Great people to deal with. Order rec'd sooner than expected and the Roadmaster equipment was excellent.

by:

The instructions were very good, the video was excellent. If I could make a recommendation, it was a little lacking at the end. Since the Smart car is virtually held together with push pins a little more time spent putting the car back together wourl have been helpful. I'm all done and I have 2 push pins left over and don't know where they go.

I received the base plate for my Miata at 4:30 Monday by 7:00 it was installed and ready to go.A great product fit very nicely.Ordering and follow up went great can’t wait to try it out Just need to decide on the tow bar we will use.The Falcon or Sterling .Thank you for a great product and service.

Installation is a bit involved but worth every second of it for the peace of mind while driving. Had a slight issue with my ordering incorrect parts but these guys went above and beyond to get it resolved in time to not miss my trip. Even rush manufactured them due to not being in stock!! Great company to do business with.

by:

This system worked perfectly from experience. They help from trailers e trailer agents was crucial for guiding me through the process.

by:

Product is great, packaging was rough, the parts were banging into each other inside the box. Box looked like it either had been opened before or had sat in a warehouse for several years.

by:

Service was immediate. Delivered on time. Tracking was exact. My opinion, overall outstanding.

by:

This reasonably priced base plate kit was professionally installed on a coupe that was pulled around the New England states for two months. The kit and the car made it possible to see many sites along the route that would have been bypassed without the toad. The kit is solid and provides secure tow-ability.

by:

Prepared my vehicle for the base plate. The base plate has a manufacturing defect in that the crossbar is approximately.375 inches short. The hole pattern matched on one side but the other side would not line up with the vehicle holes. The mounting plate overlapped the mounting holes by 1/3rd. Clearly, the assembly was short. I find my disassembled vehicle sitting for a week waiting for the replacement to arrive. Hopefully, Roadmaster QC did a better job on the new base plate assembly that I am waiting for.

Purchased the towing adapter for my GMC Terrain a few week ago, received it on time & boxed not damaged. Watched the videos’ about three time on how to do it myself and started one evening and finished it the next morning about three hours with Beer Breaks, LoL. All the parts fix perfectly, had no problems with any of the parts, Product is real sturdy and if you don’t know where to look at the bumper you will not see the hide away receiver brackets. Very nice product, do it yourself and save
Up loading two photos if it will let me one is with hide away brackets installed and the other one you can see is my complete tow bar attached to the hide away brackets

Roadmaster base plate for 2010 GMC Terrain. Very detailed instructions, great videos. Product was as described, no holes to drill, just replace factory parts with Roadmaster parts. Everything went together very well. I used the instructions supplied along with the video on my laptop. Hardest part was popping the bumper shroud back on due to colder temperature. I have a fair bit of experience with rebuilding classic cars so have lots tools and reasonable mechanical ability.

by:

2007 MX5
The build quality was good....welds
were well done....paint was good
Instructions were pretty thorough.
Lots of trimming away of the splash shield for this install!!
Oh well...no choice I guess.

by:

It is a lot easier to take of the bumper it is all plastic anyway then to take off the air intake

by:

Customer service is very helpful and patient as they walked through everything I needed to set up a car to be towed behind my motorhome.

by:

Installed on 2014 GMC Acadia. Very sturdy and heavy duty base plate. I installed it myself. You will need a little automotive knowledge and more tools then the average do it yourself-er. It took about 6 hours, by myself. It looks more intimidating then it turned out to be. You can't see it when not in use which makes it nice for the wife, since it's her car.
Pictures show the tow bar adapter. Sorry, no pictures of adapter removed.

by:

Parts came very quickly. The base plates are really well make and of heavy material. If you watch the video it is a breeze to install. Make sure you have some new clips for your bumper as the old ones will break, not all but some. I ordered clips from Amazon. I used a vibrating saw with cutting blade and it did nice job cutting plastic bumper cover.

by:

I have bought 3 different ones over the years. They all fit perfectly and the videos are so helpful too.

by:

I was having problems with the bracket that was on the car when I bought it and when it no longer felt safe to me, I looked on your website for a replacement. Lo and behold, this product appeared to be better designed and an easier installation. Putting 8t on today proved that. I am very happy with the product and your service. Thank you very much!

by:

Very heavy duty. Much more than needed for my application but better more than less.
Heavy duty also means heavy in weight. Not easy to lift and move.

by:

my baseplate was delivered on time and in great shape.

  • Base Plates and Accessories for Flat Towing 2008 Honda Civic Coupe Behind Motorhome
The Roadmaster # 521557-1 base plates are compatible with the 2006-2008 2 and 4 door DX, EX and LX Civic models. I've confirmed this with Roadmaster. You should know that Honda states in their owner's manual that the Civic shouldn't be towed behind a motorhome. This being said, I've found hundreds of references in the online forums from folks who tow their Civics without incident, as long as you follow the instructions listed in the 'emergency towing' section of the owners manual TO THE...

  • Flat Tow 2010 Honda Civic
My understanding is that Honda states the Civic shouldn't be towed behind a motorhome. It is stated that the vehicle can be towed with all wheels on the ground but you cannot tow the vehicle more than 50 miles and you must keep the speed below 35 mph, "emergency Towing". However, we have also discovered a lot of references in the online forums from folks who tow their Civics without incident. If you decide to tow the vehicle, you will need base plates first. You will also need a tow...

  • Base Plates, Tow Bar, Wiring, Safety Cables, Braking System to Flat Tow a 2010 Honda Civic 4 Door
There are actually a few items you will need to safely flat tow your 2010 Honda Civic 4 Door. If your Civic is a DX, EX, or LX, you will need Roadmaster EZ Base Plates, # 521557-1. You will then need a compatible tow bar like RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020 with Quick Disconnects # RM-201. I have included a link to the installation details for the tow bar for reference. To complete the towing set up for your Civic, you will need safety cables, lighting, and a supplemental braking...

  • How To Use Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar 5250 On a 2007 Honda Civic
In order to use the Roadmaster Falcon 5250 Tow Bar On a 2007 Honda Civic you'll need the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit part # 521557-1. This will make for a direct connection to the quick-disconnect crossbar that comes with the tow bar. Then in order to complete the setup with lights, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15247.

  • Using the Blue Ox Ambassador Tow Bar With the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit on a 2009 Honda Civic
The Blue Ox Ambassador Tow Bar cannot be used with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX2243, on your 2009 Honda Civic. The arms for the Ambassador tow bar measure 24 inches and the distance between the brackets on the Blue Ox base plate kit is 22 inches. You can use the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit, # 521557-1, with the Roadmaster Tow Bar Adapter, # RM-032. This base plate kit is designed for 4 door models. If your Civic is a 2 door model, then you will want to use the Roadmaster Base Plate...

  • Recommended Way to Flat Tow a 2008 Honda Civic SI
For your Si model 2008 Honda Civic we don't have a base plate we can safely recommend. A tow dolly like the part # RM-2050-1 actually isn't a terrible option. Either way you end up spending about the same amount of money since flat-towing components are pretty pricey and with the tow dolly there isn't an in-depth install like what base plate kits require. Plus, if you ever need to flat tow an different vehicle you wouldn't have to buy an additional base plate kit wiring kit and have it...
