Question:

How can the Blue Ox Ambassador tow bar be used with the BX2243 to tow a 2009 Honda Civic? Are some kind of adapters available to do this or possibly a different base plate?

The Blue Ox Ambassador Tow Bar cannot be used with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX2243, on your 2009 Honda Civic. The arms for the Ambassador tow bar measure 24 inches and the distance between the brackets on the Blue Ox base plate kit is 22 inches.

You can use the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit, # 521557-1, with the Roadmaster Tow Bar Adapter, # RM-032. This base plate kit is designed for 4 door models. If your Civic is a 2 door model, then you will want to use the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit, # 521563-1.
