Specs:
The rear assist lines generated by the system's camera make connecting your fifth wheel camper or gooseneck trailer a one-person job. The lines appear on the included 4.3" rear view mirror monitor and show the distance from other objects, allowing you to accurately line up your connection point when hooking up your camper or trailer.
0 Lux night vision produces a quality picture and gives you the flexibility you need when hooking up your camper or trailer. You can line up your connection point in low-light conditions at dusk, or in complete darkness at night without the aid of IR transmitters.
The rear view mirror monitor replaces your existing rear view mirror, giving you the same functionality while adding a dynamic 4.3" full-color, LCD screen to view the cargo area of your truck. This dual-action mirror monitor is the perfect tool for safely connecting your fifth wheel camper or gooseneck trailer, allowing you to see your truck bed and camper at the same time.
Simply unscrew and unplug your factory third brake light. Once removed, set your new custom bezel with camera in place. Feed the 6' camera wire through the opening into your truck and re-install your factory third brake light in front of the custom bezel.
Connect your 6' camera wire to the 18' wiring harness. This combined 24" wire will extend through your head liner or door sill panel along the edge of the floor, up to the front of your truck, and connect with the included ground and power wiring harness. The power wire will run to your truck's battery.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the truck bed cargo camera with rear view mirror. Now this product fits certain years and models of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks. To ensure that it is a fit for your vehicle, you can use the vehicle fit guide located at etrailer.com.The camera's located right here, and this bezel or bracket mounts directly behind the third brake light on your vehicle. Everything still functions the same, but now you've just added a camera to your brake light assembly. This is a custom fit design, so it ensures that it matches up perfectly with your vehicle and maintains that factory or OEM look. The camera can be adjusted a little bit to get the specific angle you need for your application. All the necessary wiring is included.
The camera is a nice small compact unit, so once installed, you'll hardly even notice that it's there. This system is designed to allow you to monitor and see what's going on in your cargo area or the bed of your truck. This is perfect for if you have a fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch, really helps make it easier when connecting to your trailer. It also comes with a rear view mirror that functions as a monitor and replaces your existing rear view mirror. Comes with all the necessary installation items to make the replacement. It's a really nice design, very easy to use.You can see right here is where our display appears.
Now if the camera's not on, then this functions as a standard rear view mirror. And then when the camera's activated, the image will appear, which will allow us to monitor what we see in our camera.Turn the overhead lights off and you can see that it still provides really great visibility at night time or in low light conditions. We also have a power button right here which allows us to gain access to the menu and we can adjust the brightness level of the display. When it comes to the wiring, everything's pretty much plug and play. The only things that you have to hard wire are your ground wires, and your power wires. Now typically what happens is when wiring, a lot of people choose to take their power wire from the camera and run it in to the reverse circuit on the vehicle.
That way this camera automatically comes on whenever the reverse gear is engaged in the vehicle. That's going to do it for today's look at the truck bed cargo camera with the rear view mirror.
Hard to see in bright sun other than that easy to install
Image only covers 1/2 the mirror & is too small to see any details
I would have given this a higher score if it were not for the lack of decent instructions or how the mirror actually works, Secondly, I don't like the fuse placement on the mirror, I will splice it out and add it somewhere else that is accessible. I do like the fact you can connect 3 cameras, again, no instructions how the mirror switches between the two. After testing, when a camera is powered, the screen show that particular camera. I will be adding the cargo cam and an additional front cam to my aux switches so I have control over them. Also, the cargo cam is 620 lines, as advertised but no specs on the mirror monitor. After receiving the item, the mirror only produces 480 lines. Not deal breaker as the picture quality is good for a 4.3" screen.
Haven't installed yet, but did bench test on the cargo cam as well as an additional cam I purchased. Works flawlessly.
Overall, not a bad product, just need some more info/instructions and options for the mirror fuse.
Sales experience was seamless, product was installed professionally on a public safety vehicle and there has been no negative feedback reference the rearview camera.
The directions are poor at best. You have to figure it out on your own, which isn't a real big problem, but some additional information would be nice. The bezel for the camera is nice, but doesn't fit 100%. Its close enough, but you have to play with it a little.
Additionally, I'm not sure why the camera has a 6' cable, then there is a REQUIRED 24' cable to then connect to another 6' cable to the mirror. I'm wanting to install the mirror in my truck, not the truck in front of me. I don't need 36' of cable, its a Crew Cab, not a buss. So it means you have ALOT of cable to stash.
Also, other than changing the brightness, I have no idea what the POWER button on the mirror does. I wired to a switched power source figuring I could just press the power button to turn the monitor on and off. Guess what.. you can't. It is ON. To have this work right, you'd have to figure out a way to wire it to the reverse light switch.
And once you find this issue (despite the item description clearly stating the power button can be used to turn it on and off), good luck getting help from etrailer. Was told I would be contacted by someone from technical support days ago... its been crickets.
It also sucks the mirror is autodiming, despite what looks like light sensors front and rear, it does not dim (only found that mentioned in the two page "manual/install guide".
The quality of the parts seem good but the directions to install everything were horrible (essentially none existent) and I had to go to [online] to figure out how to remove my factory mirror for the new mirror install and the wiring I figured out by trial and error. The camera kit should have included longer screws to replace the stock screws on the F250 brake light. The order was delayed about a month due to supply chain shortages. Once I got got it all together it works well, just disappointed in the instructions and should have provided replacement screws.
has a glare in mirror so can't see in back of the bed
